I understand that but the question is how to extract that material from any newspaper or magazine on any specified topic and prepare it for the exam ?

When you suppose any news or article very important, note down it in your notes. For instance, 232 asylumseeker died when a ship wrecked near Italy seaport, a few days back.It is now among the deadliest accidents in the history.
Examiner pick up these kind of incidents.Furthermore, Brazil's secruity situation is in danger because upto 50,000 teachers are protesting against govt.Whereas World Cup 2014 is to be held in Brazil.Note down this kind of incidents.Read any book containing Current Affairs also.

Read the following portions in " Jehangir World Times" magazine.
i. This month in History
ii. National and International Current affairs
There are also a couple of valuable articles related to current issues, so you can note the important points from those articles as well.

Try to read 2-3 National Newspapers daily.

2 to 3 newspapers?? wouldn't it be difficult to read 2 to 3 newspapers per day along with studying subjects? or do you mean ''only the editorial pages of 2 to 3 newspapers''?

Just read the headlines, alongwith minor details.
Also read the editorials and one or two articles related to contemporary issues.
It will improve your English as well as Current affairs.
