GDP growth for 2011-12 has been estimated 3.7 percent as compared to 3.0 percent in the previous fiscal year 2011.
Agriculture Sector accounts for 21 percent of GDP. Agriculture Sector growth is 3.1 percent against 2.4 percent last year. Per capita real income grew at 2.3 percent in 2011-12 as compared to 1.3 percent growth last year. Foreign Direct Investment stood at $ 668 million during July-April 2011-12 as against $ 1293 million last year. Remittances witnessed a strong growth of 25.8 percent in 2011 over the previous year 2010. Food and non-food inflation averaged 11.1 percent and 10.7 percent respectively. Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves reached to $ 16.5 billion at the end-April 2012 compared to $ 17.0 billion at end-April 2011.
