Default Precis & Composition for CE-17
1. Read passage repeatedly until you get main idea
2. Mark/highlight important topics relevant to the theme of the topic
3. Substitute group of words with single common word.
4. Use one word substitution in place of sentence, i, e impossible, invisible,
5. Cut/delete all irrelevant ot the main idea of the topic, illustrations, examples and quotations
6. write precis in own words, don't copy words from given passage
7. Arrange all important topics in systematic and logical order
8. Use indirect narration.
9. delete personal opinion of author/ writer.
10. use past tense except describing universal facts.
11. conjunction may be replaced with semicolon.
12. One third length should be maintained
13. Give title even if it is not asked
14. Language and style should be simple and clear.
