I need your help seniors.I am too bad at English and analytical aproach is zero. English is one of my biggest obstacles in the way of CSS.I want to improve my English writing skills,vocabulary and anaylitical approach. Please seniors suggest me some techniques and books which help me to build my vocabulary, writing skills and opinions.

Jazak Allah khair :-) Thank you Mir Muhammad. I read dawn on daily basis, pick difficult words from it and write their synonyms as well but the problem is i forgot the vocab which i have learnt :-( Can you suggest me some books for reading stuff?

Use words in ur own sentence nd daily interaction with others where need nd read general books or novels like conquest of Happiness, Al Chemist nd other

I would recommend you to read DAWN editorial.Its language is tough and of a kind you will need in the majority of Papers,i mean politics,ir,social issues,etc.

For vocabulary starts to note down your own words in Ms word.This is a painstaking work if you are a complete novice.Understand each and every word that is new to you from different dictionaries,in case one dictionary does not serve the purpose.

I know many will disagree with making your own word list,but believe me, it is the best method,if you have time, so far for me.

and of course,read as much as you can,there is no alternative to that.Books by George Orwell,like 1984 and Animal Farm Have history connected to it.I will recommend those.

For opinion generation,sufficient knowledge of a situation is important.First,acquaint yourself with a given topic and then read different opinions on it.Either you will come with a new stance of your own or be convinced by already given stand,which you can justify by arguments.

As far as the question of retaining of vocabulary is concerned,learn a word from every angle and its correct usage,which you can do from different online dictionaries.Good dictionaries are Oxford,Macmillan,Collin cobuild,Longman and vocabulary.com.You will change things around.

Just read book exploring the world of english by syed saddat ali shah, read daily dawn newspaper, newyork times, world time magzines im sure that will help you a lot
