How do we have to correct sentences
By usage of words or
By punctuation or
By tenses
Seniors please guide

If you look at Q. No. 4 of CSS 2016 paper,
In first part, Correction needs to be done on basis of structural changes, grammer & tenses.
While second part is just about punctuation.

There can be any mistake in the sentence you are going to correct. The mistake can be of punctuation or tense or structure or any word or any phrase. You are supposed to correct the sentence regardless of the nature of the mistake.
