Possibly the (first) female dictator?

The North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un was undergoing cardiovascular surgery in Pyongyang owing to the heart problems developed due to the family history of that disease and his smoking habits. However, with each passing moment, the situation becomes more and more puzzling as well as interesting.

As of now, no credible information is available anywhere in the world with regard to the current status of the dictator. Be that as it may, it is rumoured that Kim Jong-un has died of complications arising out of the surgery.

On the other side, different media outlets have shared different versions of stories. The Japanese media says he is in a vegetative state after surgery. Reuters and the Chinese media reports that “China has sent medical team to advise on Kim’s health”. South Korea says nothing unusual is happening across the 38 parallel.

The dictator’s sister Kim Sol-song was already calling the shots in Pyongyang and is considered as the second most powerful person in North Korea after her brother. In case Kim dies, it is believed she will assume complete power.

If she assumes power, she would be the (first) female dictator. It will be very interesting to see how the situation unfolds in coming days.

Whether Kim is alive or not? If he is alive and recuperating, will he be able to run the head his country, or his sister will be in-charge of Pyongyang affairs?

If Kim Sol-song becomes dictator, it will be new and interesting development in the history of gender equality and women rights’ movements.
