Preparation strategy for English (Grammar and Composition)

Dear AOA;
AS we know English is the spinal cord status for the examination. so try to improve your vocabulary, Grammar understanding and precise scripting by consulting some authentic and Genuine books like Exploring the world of English and also coordinate with a good tutor of English language in your premises.

A skill is nill without will....

Hi,

English Compsition Paper is a 100 Marks paper. Following are the questions with Suggestion for improvement:

Precise Writing: 20+5 Marks
This question requires precise writing of a given paragraph, reduceing to 1/3rd of its length with a suitable title. You need to practise it alot because this is the most difficult question of composition paper.

You can practise from book of A.Bassit Jasra which contains solved precise. R.H Dhilon's Book which contains also solved & Unsolved precise & Highi School Engligh Composition by Warn & Martinet.

Comprehension: 20 Marks.
A paragraph has to be read and questions in the end are to be anwered. You need to read para more then once and highligh important points. Reading question in advance will help you to point out quickly relavent issues. There are some difficult words which also need to be answerd. Warn & Marten & Sadat A Shah's book can be used for the question.

Antonyms & Synomyms 10 Marks
GRE vocab can be used for the purspoe. (In my own opinion, memorizing 3500 words is just wastage of time bca they are too many & if this time is invested upon precise writing or any other subject then it will yield more benefit.)

Expension 20 Marks
Prof. Manzoor Mirza's book can be used to write / expend an idea to 250-300 words.

Idioms 5 Marks
Should be done from Exploring wold of english grammar.

Pair of words 10 Marks
Should be done from Exploring wold of english grammar.

Sentence Correction 5 Marks
Should be done from Exploring wold of english grammar.

Change of Narration 5 Marks
Should be done from Exploring wold of english grammar.

I do not think these books are available online... Secondly it will be more expensive to have an online book, read it online or print it...Dhilon's book will cost you just Rs. 100 approx and so will the second Jasra'a book. So be practical and purchase either of them..

Alternately you can practise from the past year papers available at this link..
