For Precise,as I said above, just practice. For correction consult book by Wren & Martin along with grammar books for Inter level(especially Sunshine series;they have plenty of rules for correction,even more than Wren & Martin)

The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate candidates' English reading and writing skill. Your paper should portray you as being well versed in both. Work on your grammar and expression. Perform well, Pray and BELIEVE in your prayers. This is the recipe of passing this paper

Let me tell you my own case,I never prepared for it as I fell ill shortly before exams and hardly managed to sit for three long hours. I practiced my first precise in exams. However, I was satisfied with my performance.( As I teach grammar, I faced no problem in doing grammatical questions.)

First of all, analyze your own skills and justly rank yourself where do you stand. If you are exceptionally well; trust your skills,if not then try to upgrade them. Analyze,evaluate,plan, perform,pray and believe

I scored 64 in 2012 in English Precis and Composition.

As per my observations, the paper was much more technical than what many had been expecting.
Therefore, it had to be attempted quite tactfully as well.

Yes, you can surely use the transitional words irrespective of their existence in the original paragraph.
