Dear, English is very technical subject and demands a lot of practice. I'd suggest you don't depends on books. For essay, you should practice a topic daily. To get yourself enrich with general and current affairs knowledge, vocabulary and essay preparation, you should read DAWN newspaper daily. Apart from other news and stuff, do write its editorial page. When you'll make your habit of reading it daily, you can pick a topic out of it and practice it as well. The essence to pass essay paper by good marks is having simple English, free of grammatical mistakes and most importantly; to be on the topic of the essay.

For preparation of essay, precis and composition and other compulsory and optional subjects paper, you may consult past papers. I must say that don't join any academy for your preparation, they do uniform study and definitely waste time.

You should devote reasonable time to English daily. Do practice and get your essay and precis checked by the qualified teacher or by CSP. You can post it on this prestigious forum as well. In this way you'll get to know where you're standing and also your mistakes will be improved to a great extent.
