Default Query about Precis and Paragraphy

I want to ask whether we could mention the name of the writer in our own precis writing or answers of the questions of a passage which is already mentioned in the original passage or should be simply say that 'the writer says' in our answers?

There are no hard and fast rules but do not mention author name in precise.

While, in comprehension you can mention his/her name.
