I think you should not invest much time on such readings due to time constrain, you have to cover other 1100 marks too. For precis writing, try to learn the rules of precis writing and start solving past papers. The important thing is to get your work checked from some expert teacher.

Hi there,
CSS exam is very challenging. If one paper is easy and one has full command over the subject, there are other subjects too. Being on this forum get benefits from the experiences of those who have passed this exam. Moreover, Precis writing is a very important topic in English paper. If you attempt it skillfully, you can get good marks in this part. I would suggest you read the questions given by the end of each paragraph before reading the given passage. It will enhance your understanding.
The more the understanding, the easier to solve precis.
