Our life and wise sayings or sermons
Our life and wise sayings or sermons
Since the time immemorial, Man has been in a constant search of eternal truth, a truth that leads him to right path. Thousands of prophets, saints, and pious people have tried their best to guide people towards right path, a path leading to God. Millions of books have been penned down to help people get proper guidance, getting the pearls of wisdom from thoughtful writers. Books of golden quotes and wise sayings abound in the world intended to be written for the reformation and transformation our life. Indeed, mere a single sentence is sufficient to bring a sea change in our lives. A single thought-provoking and inspirational sentence can bring tumult in the placid sea of our stagnant lives. But it needs a man of understanding. A God-fearing person hardly needs to listen to long sermons to lead a better and pious life. A man of knowledge and God-fearing person grasps the truth the moment it strikes to him. Then, there are no ifs and buts! A truthful, sensible, pious, and God-fearing surrenders himself before truth. Mere a word of truth can jolt him and bring him back from his stupor or deep slumber. Ironically and regrettably, we witness people being quite indifferent to the words of wisdom to change their lives. They turn deaf ear to reasoning, religious teachings, sermons, quotations and wise sayings. Despite the fact, they attend religious ceremonies and gathering, they don’t try to get imbued with the feelings and messages these religious sitting intend to impart. If ever they feel remorse, compunction or guilty, the feeling is temporary and short-lived. By the time they are in religious ceremonies or in graveyard or cemetery, they pretend to be God-fearing, and it seems that they have learnt a lesson from it and they are going change themselves, staying from sins and returning towards God. But it is only wishful thinking we find them resorting to their old practices again; washing away all the effects they had while attending religious programs. One of the reason of their devil-may-care attitude towards sermons, quotations and other wise sayings is that they find most of our preachers, teachers and guides merely using words and only words with matter from heart and with little action to match their words. Most of them are long on words and short on actions. It is high time we realise that we no longer need rhetoric or verbosity. Flowery words have failed to produce any result in bringing any reformation in our society. What we badly need is in instill and inculcate the fear of God in our hearts to resist the temptations of satanic forces who are hellbent in seducing and perverting us. "Fear of God" should be our motto to lead a happy and successful life in this world and the Hereafter regards |
