Smile A hole is more honorable than a patch

sharing the piece of central idea what i understood.

Patched clothes indicate the shame of poverty.
The hole could have just happened, and is not shameful.

All members are requested to expand an idea according to their level of understanding of this proverb. I am not sure that I am correct or wrong.

If I say a patch is more honorable than a hole.
A patch means recovery of a hole.

I think its about, No matter what conditions you are in, you should be happy and thankful to God for whatever you have. And I agree with the idea that putting a patch on clothes mean you are not satisfied of the cloths with holes or ashamed of it and want to hide it

It can also be " Hole reveals the true side while patch is made to hide things. Patch is applied to cover wrongdoings"

Lightbulb

why you are resembling it with clothes
patch means bandage,
you can drag this topic to other idea such as honour is damaged if you are patch by others it will be shameful for a person with conscience that he is bandages by anyone else not he himself. and so on
may be i am wrong but its my own idea you can oppose it, every one has one's own opinion

My idea was not based on the cloths, but the condition of human life and your satisfaction level, the term cloth was used as an example.

"A hole is more honorable than a patch"
It may mean that you have holes in your clothes means its ur reality...when u try to hide it with patches it mean u are ashamed of what you are...thats why you want to hide it with the patches...so don't b ashamed of what u are.
