Default Direct / indirect solving exercise needs help

Dear All,

I am posting below few sentences that either needs to convert from direct to indirect or indirect to direct.

It will be great if some body having complete knowledge in direct / indirect usage to convert correctly:

1: She said, "I did not go to school yesterday."

2: He said, " Hello! Mr. Salman, We are very glad to see you."

3: They said to us that they respected us very much.

4: He said to my father, "Please forgive me this time."

5: She said to her mother, "How lucky you are to win this prize!"

6: Mother said to me, "Would that your father were here today!"

7: The captain said, "Would that my team had won this match!"

8: He wished that he might catch that train that day.

Thanks in advance

My apologies, friend.

Laddie means: a boy or young man (often as a form of address).

2: He said, " Hello! Mr. Salman, We are very glad to see you."
A: He greeted Mr. Salman and told him they were very glad to see him.

3: They said to us that they respected us very much.
A: They said to us, "We respect you very much".

5: She said to her mother, "How lucky you are to win this prize!"
This is a tricky one in my opinion. The grammatically correct version sounds very out of place if you speak it out loud since you have to be clear that she's telling her mother that SHE (her mother) is the lucky one.
A: She exclaimed to her mother how lucky she was to have won the prize.
OR
A: She exclaimed how lucky her mother was to have (had?) won the prize.

I might be wrong as well. If so, please do correct me.

Dear brother,no apology beacuase i was wrong on that laddie word.lol!

For Sentence no 5 open this link.http://www.english-for-students.com/...ct-Speech.html
It should be:She exclaimed that you were very lucky to win the prize.
Both of us are not correct.

In sentence no 2 i forget to write "him"" so you are right.
It should be:He greeted Mr.salman and told him(that)they were very glad to see him.

Sentence no 5 is wrong, read the above link and i am providing another one
http://www.englishpractice.com/impro...ported-speech/

The rule is related to how/what +adjective.E.g How beautiful, how wonderful etc.
In place of how and what very or great will be added.
That should be added.
Then subject which in this case is you(mother).
Then verb
Then very/great+adj.
