What is An Idiom?

An idiom is a group of words that have a different meaning from actual words. The idiom has a figurative meaning, not a literal meaning.

Ten Most important idioms for Competitive exams.

1. Apple of discord :
Meaning; Anything causing trouble, discord or jealousy.
Sentence; The piece of Land is the apple of discord between two brothers.

2. Between the devil and the deep sea:
Meaning; A difficult choice.
Sentence; Maria was between the devil and the deep sea when she has to choose Medical and fine art
in college.

3. Spade a spade:
Meaning: Speak fluently without hesitation the truth.
