prolly charles dickens is too old for english language and expression these days...i would rather suggest concentrate on newspapers and go through anything in general (english)...from magazines to short stories...

Other subjects? you mean to say the compulsories or the optionals..

for the compulsories, there is no definite book....there are many and you need to enhance your vocab, analytical power, memory, etc etc to ensure good scores in them...

for islamiat, all you need to do is go through the "Friday feature" of Dawn...you can find these articles both in the Friday edition of Daily Dawn or on this forum..

Eds preferebly you should consult O'levels or Matriculation Bio, Physics and Chemistry books..

Current Affairs can be amply done from the daily newspaper...and i consulted the Jahangir World Times for its prep too..

Dear, doing masters in English will help you deal with English paper but it is mandatory to concentrate on the rudiments of English, especially comprehension and Grammar. I suggest you should study "Intermediate English by Raymond Murphy" for grammar and "Exploring the world of English". These books are pretty useful ones for CSS preparation, if need be, Michael Swan can also be studied for covering the syntactic side of language.

Faisal Khan
