I think both are equally right:

He forbade/prohibited me to open the door.
or
He ordered me not to open the door.

Can any one explain the meanings of following sentences .These are from the past papers of 1986 & 1987.

To rob Peter to pay Paul.
means to help someone while doing loss of other. simply, paul ko deny k liay peter ka nuqsan kardo

Learn to walk before you run.
go ahead step by step or first learn basics then go further

b) Marriage is a lottery.
Marriage is mixed blessing. As in lottery you have a chance to win as wel as a chance to lose. Same with marriage. Either ur life will be very successful or .........

c) Success has many friends.
Everyone goes for the gold not coal. If u r sucessful, everyone will be proud of you. If you are facing failure you have to stay with your ownself.

d) Art lies in concealing art.

e) Life without a philosophy is like a ship without rudder.

Every one should have some idealogy to lead successful life. Without any purpose life is meaningless.
