En Bloc

As a unit; all together:

I have been drawing our attention to the public and private qualities of the several arts lest they be treated en bloc.

Sine Die

Parliament was dismissed sine die.

Status quo

We don't want to admit more singers to the chorus; we like the status quo.

@chaudhry

Here i guess we are talking of only one essay which is being compared with another ,not essays .So the time when you compare an essay and then you finally find it either identical or different from the one compared .Them is only used when two or more essays are compared with another one.

f) He said that he should come to see me the next day.

Thank you brother: specially for h) where I mistakenly wrote him without giving it proper time.
But when we use "enquired" it becomes necessary to attach "of" otherwise we can simply use "asked" instead of "enquired of"
Please mods change "him" into "her" in my original post reference h) ......because I can not tolerate that minor error which is a blunder ultimately.

c) please confirm from any authentic source whether "and" is perfect or "so" ??????????
d) adding nature of exclamation gives sound look. You have attempted it in a better way.
f) you have rightly pointed out because here he is showing his extra emphasis / surety to see me.

g) We can use "blessed" or "prayed".

Jigar Tauqeer:

Look at the original sentence:

v) I compared his essay to Mushtaq’s and found them to be almost identical.

Indeed, for comparison at least two things/ objects are needed as reference points. Even if the title of both the essays is same suppose "Honesty is the best policy", these are two different pieces because one pertains to Mushtaq and other to the person about whom we are discussing.

Essays fall in the category of things so "these" sounds better than "them".

@happy ending:

b) You have excessively played with this sentence. Major reshuffling is not desired. Look at following solution which seems more accurate:
The beggar prayed that I might live long and grow rich.
h) Likewise this sentence has lost its proper meaning by major reshuffling.

Following two solutions sound reasonable:

She asked me if I could tell her what the time was.
OR

She enquired of me if I could tell her what the time was.

e) You have beautifully answered this question
