correct is

the traveler exclaimed with wonder that night was very dark.

in this,if i m nt wrong,

wht--replaced by "very" ,and "that"

as per rule of 2nd person in reported speech will change according to object of reporting speech... dont know kya theak rhy ga...:con:thinking
