Just teach me categorically that in some cases we have a word that serves both the jobs of noun and verb.Following are the selected examples.

The word "WIN" is used in both ways as mentioned above.Now i often get confused to use such words in this structure as.
1.the win of the team has boosted up the morale of the country.
however win is a noun in dictionaries as well,but my sixth sense always incline me to use it in this way.
the winning of the team
likewisE . word "Count" is also a noun but we tend to say
The counting has started

Why we use ING form in the structure of
The noun-ing of.
Please dont recount the concept of gerund as i know it.
