"I couldn't get into the house because i had lost my key, so i had to break a window", he said.
He told that he could not get into the house because he had lost his key so he had to break a window.


"Would you like to see over the house or are you more interested in the garden?", she asked me.
She inquired of me if i would like to see over the house or whether i was more interested in the garden.


"Please send whatever you can spare. All contributions will be acknowledged immediately", said the secretary of the disastrous fund.
The secretary of the disastrous fund requested to send whatever we could spare because all contributions would be acknowledged immediately.


She asked if he'd like to go to the concert and i said i was sure he would.
She said, "Will he like to go to the concert". I said, "I am sure he will".


I told her to stop making a fuss about nothing and said that she was lucky to have got a seat at all.
I said to her, "Stop making a fuss about nothing. You are lucky to have got a seat at all".


The teacher said, "You must not forget what i told you last session.I shall expect you to be able to repeat next lesson by heart."
The teacher advised that we must not forget what she told me last session and expected me to able to repeat next lesson by heart.


He asked me if he should leave it in the car.
He said to me, "Shall i leave it in the car?"


He said, "May i open the window? Its rather hot in here"
He asked if he might open the window because it was rather hot in there.

People wished that the Quaid e Azam had been alive those days to their fate.
People said,"Would that the Quaid e Azam have been alive these days to our fate".

They said, "Brave! Imran, what a shot".
They applauded imran for a shot.

i suppose we cannot use let in indirect speech and it will change according to situation. correct me if i am wrong.

We also avoid to use multiple conditional structures(whether or if) in one sentence and try to combine them by introducing conjunction or phrase.....! (Since its not mentioned in the book, but common observation)
