I noticed Akbar was carrying a bag.
He is such kind of man who is liked by everyone.
He has visited as many historic places as one has or can visit.
He is such a man as liked by everyone
Reason: such and some are used as adjectives they are followed by the conjuction as and not by " who","which",and "when".

mariashamshad Tuesday, February 05, 2013 04:21 PM

And what tasleem said that is a seperate rule
6.He is such a man as is liked by everyone. (Such is always followed by "AS")
SUCH is not always followed by AS. SUCH AS is a different story.

And that such as has a rule and that is we use " such as" with these words (define, treat,,mention, depict, portray, represent, regard)
And these verbs dont take "as"after them...(think,consider,term,call,name).
:)
. A good reader must be hardworking, and must possess intelligent. (and the sentence you have already corrected is also accurate) Please refrain from correcting if you are not sure. this causes a lot more confusion. she corrected it the right way.
3.I noticed Akbar carrying a bag in his hand. (the verb to be is not used) what do you mean by verb to be is not used?
4.Having entered his house, I shut the door at once. (I think it should be like that, because I (or someone else was the doer) and if we keep it in passive as in above, the meaning is changed.)
there is a difference between you shutting the door and someone else shutting the door.
uopn entering his house, the door was shut at once.

6.He is such a man as is liked by everyone. (Such is always followed by "AS")
SUCH is not always followed by AS. SUCH AS is a different story.
8.He has visited as many historical places as one has visited or can visit. one could have visited. here we are hoping about a possibility.
in the first sentence, by mistake i have written the adjective "intelligent" instead of "intelligence" I think i have rightly corrected it: "A good reader must be hardworking, and must possess intelligence."

3.I noticed Akbar carrying a bag in his hand. I think it is correct too

Still I am not upto that level to claim to be 100% accurate,so please Tasleem make me correct where i am wrong. Regards
