Well it depends on where you live. Lahore is known as the intellectual capital of the country and that holds well in case of CSS coaching classes. Kindly mention your location first so that academy/teacher can be referred accordingly.

Don't overburden yourself with too many books. You can have idioms book of McMordie. It's important to practice writing and get your work evaluated by an experienced English teacher.

Good'luck!

I'm from Lahore, but saying that it is the intellectual capital is a way of dissuading other people, as in they would not be able to pass the exam without coming here. You just don't put them in trouble. :oo

Academies are a waste of time. You can easily prepare at home. You don't have to beautify your expression, just keep it simple, meaningful and grammatically correct.

Great! In that case you don't have to waste time in academies. You can simply go to an English teacher for a month and get your work checked in every class. Just make sure you practice writing.

@Buddha - Interestingly, I didn't coin the term but it's the entire media and press which calls it so for all the right reasons. Just like Karachi is the financial capital is something which can't be denied.
PS: I don't believe in belittling or demeaning anyone on the basis of their location or any other factor for that matter so please neither get that impression nor spread it. He has asked for guidance so I have given my opinion based on my experience. I am not urging anyone to move to Lahore for CSS preparation, most of the people do that already.
