Part 1 continue=Correction of errors and reasons
The articles (a, an, the)

1) She is more intelligent of the two.
She is the more intelligent of the two.
2) He is cleverer of the two men.
He is the cleverer of the two men.
Reason we place the before an adjective in the second(comparative) degree when one person is to be shown of two
1) Mahmood was Napoleon of Asia.
Mahmood was the Napoleon of Asia.
2) Nasser was churchill of Africa.
Nasser was the churchill of Africa.
Reason we place the before a proper noun when we went to describe a person through it by comparing it with another person.
1) She is Shy girl.
She is a Shy girl.
2) We bought pen, Pencil and Ink pot.
We bought a pen, a Pencil and a Ink pot.
Reason we place the indefinite article a or an before a noun in the singular number.
1) I need a apple and banana.
I need an apple and a banana.
Reason we place the article an before a word beginning with a vowel and giving the vowel sound and A word beginning with a consonant( any letter other than a,e,o,u which are vowels).
1) He is M.A while his friend is B.A.
He is an M.A while his friend is a B.A.
2) We played an one-day cricket match.
We played a one-day cricket match.
Reason An is placed before a word whose first sound is the vowel, sound of(a,e,i,o,u) A is used before a word whose first sound is the sound of a consonant(of any other letter than of the vowels)
1) He is a poet and a novelist
He is a poet and novelist
2) The Srilanka is a beautiful Island.
Srilanka is a beautiful Island.
3) The Byron was a great poet.
Byron was a great poet.
Reason we generally do not place the definite article before a proper noun.
1) In the case of theft go to the police.
In case of theft go to the police.
Reason we do not place the before a noun in phrases like the above in which the object comes after the preposition( here the object of of is theft

The infinitive with out "To"
1) He dare not to go there.
He dare not go there.
2) I will make him to go there.
I will make him go there.
3) You need not to ask such a question.

4)You had better to stop talking and to do some work.

Note= To is omitted after may,can,shall,will,must,let,do,make,need,see,hear, feel,better,rather,sooner,as soon as.
