Lets practice precise-beginners-for cce-2020

Hello everyone this post is created only for begginers to practice precis. I will try to post paragraph everyday in morning and with combine efforts we will solve it. It is my humble request to please evaluate our precis and positive criticism woul be highly indebted.

Note: Firstly we go from easy than to tough ones initially i am posting paragraphs from WREN AND MARTIN

PARAGRAPH-01

There are hundred of supersititions which survive in various parts of the country, and the stury of them is rather amusing. We are told, for example, that it is unlucky to point to the new moon or to look at it through glass, but if we bow nine times to it we shall have a lucky month.
Now suppose you tell a scientist that you tell a scientist that you believe a certain supersitition --- let us say, that the howling of dog is a sign of death. The scientist will immediately require evidence before he can accept your belief. He will want figures to prove it. It will be useless to quote two or three cases; he will want hundreds. He will want also to know (a) if it ever happens that the howling of dogs is not followeds by a death (b) if ever person's death is predicted by howling of dogs. The answer to the former question is in affirmative, and to the latter in the negative. Your supersitition will not bear investigation. It may impress an ignorant person ;but it cant face the light of facts.Your case would not carry conviction in court of Law.
Apart from this process of testing by results, any intelligent man will want to know the "reason why". What connection can be between a howling dog and an approaching death? Can it be cause and effect? Can it be that the dogs has a gift of forseeing such events? Or is the dog the instrument employed by some uncanny power that moves invisibly in our midst?

SOLUTION BY ME OF PARAGRAPH 1

Number of amusing myths had been roaming everywhere. An ignorant man might be inspired by this irrationality but not the scientist.Intelligence requires proofs, data and recurrence of phenomenon to hold waters. He raised logical questions and deduce answers to be acceptable as evidence in Court.Besides this scientific approach, to prove mere suppositions, logical reasoning is required.

PARAGRAPH NO-02

In every country people imagine that they are the best and the cleverest and the others are not so good as they are. The Englishman thinks that he and his country are the best; the Frenchman is very proud of France and everything french. The Germans and Italians think no less of their countries and many Indians imagine that India is in many ways the greatest country in the world. This is wrong.Everybody wants to think well of himself and his country. But really there is no person who has not got some good and some bad qualities. In the same way, there is no country which is not partly good and partly bad.We must take good wherever we find it and try to remove the bad wherever it may be. We are , of course, most concerned with with our own country, India, Unfortunately, it is in bad way today. Many of our people are poor and unhappy. They have no joy in their lives. We have to find out how we can make them happier. We have to see what is good in our ways and customs and try to keep it, and whatever is bad we have to throw away. If we find anything good in other countries, we should certainly take it.

Like, Englishman, Frenchman, Germans and Italians a country's inhabitants consider themselves and their country superior, so, are the Indians, which is amiss. Every Country has positives and negatives. We must adapt positives find anywhere. Worrily, our country India, and its people are destitute and distress without delight. Considering their uplifment, we must be adaptable to positive change coming from elsewhere while retaininig our marvellous values and shunning evils within us.

PARAGRAPH NO-3

Over-eating is one of the most wonderful practices among those who think they can afford it. In fact, authorities say that nearly all who can get as much as desire , over-eat to their disadvantage. This class of people could save a great more food than they can save by missing one meal per week and the same time they could improve their health.
A heavy meal at night, the so-called ""dinner", is the fashion with many and often it is taken shortly before retiring. It is unnecesssary and could be forgone, not only once a week but daily without loss of strength. From three to five hours are needed to digest food. While sleeping, this food not being required to give energy for work, is in many cases converted into excess fat, giving rise to over-weight . The evening meal should be light, taken three or four hours before retiring. This prevents over-eating, conserve energy and reduces cost of food.

Word Count-----------159

SOLUTION BY ME NO 03:

Affordability of meal results in over-eating, which is detrimental experts suggest. Avoiding large meal conserves food and boosts health.Trending large meal intake before sleeping could be given up, otherwise stored in body without ingestion causing obesity. Consuming delicate dinner few hours before sleeping results in avoiding binge, preserving energy and cutting cost of foods

I'm not fully experienced in precis writing but i know few rules about it.. i guess there are few mistakes in your precis...

1. You have used "He" a second person in your precis, that is not allowed, precis is always written in 3rd person form or in indirect speech.
2. you have mentioned word count of 53. I counted it 66. I guess you are excluding prepositions and title of precis. In precis a single "a" is also counted as a word also title is counted as part of precis. So include them too in your precis.
3. precis is always 1/3 of original paragraph. In original paragraph words are 264, whose 1/3 will be 88 words but you haven't fulfilled its requirement.
4. You have given precis title something like a sentence. Don't go towards a sentence structure or an idiomic format and it should be between 3-8 words.

Here is my contribution for the precis... i know it's not well structured, suggestions and guidance will be appreciated.

Few practice based beliefs are obtained in certain areas of a country such as it is unlucky to point towards moon, to see moon through a glass, wailing of a dog is a sign of death. The scientists requires some facts and figures to accept it. Courts require evidence to provide plea on that and intelligent person will argue reasons behind these practices. Therefore, practice based beliefs are not acceptable in the real world.

Thank you for positive response since i am naive in the bussiness so i dont know whether title is included in word count but as per my knowledge i think it is not counted.secondly i will try to improve myself in future to be more accurate and precise.

PARAGRAPH NO 04

Trees give shade for the benefit of others and while they themselves stand in the sun and endure scorching heat, they produce the fruit by which others profit. The character of good men is like that of trees. What is the use of perishable body, if no use of it is made for the benefit of mankind. Sandalwood---the more it is rubbed the more scent it yield. Sugarcane ---the more it peeled and cut into peices, the more juice does it produce.Gold--- the more it burnt, the more brightly does it shine. The men who are noble at heart do not lose these qualities even in losing their lives. What does it matter whether men praise them or not? What difference does it make whether riches abide with them or not? What does it signify whether they die at this moment or whether their lives are prolonged? Happen what may, those who tread in the right path will not set foot in any other. Life itself unprofitable to a man who does not live for others. To live for mere sake of living one's life is to live the life of dogs and cows. Those who lay down their lives for the sake of a friend, or even for the sake of a stranger, will assuredly dwell forever in a world of bliss.

SOLUTION NO-04 BY ME

Quality of noble human is like trees, bearing hardships to provide releif to fellowmen .So, mortal body is useless if not beneficial for humanity.Sandal wood, Gold and Sugar cane lost their selfdom to cater others likewise humans lost their existence without fear or favour.Whether lived short or not they stuck to righteous path and life is like animals and worthless if not live for others.Sacrificing life for humanitarian cause will lead to eternal life.

Mistakes in your solution...
1. Don't mention examples like you have used in the starting sentence.
2. Use of first person is not allowed like you have used "we", "us"
3. Title should be minimum 3 words
