Minto- The Misunderstood one
inputs are highly appreciable
Minto was subjected to criticism due to his bold pieces of arts. On social grounds he had to face harsh remarks on one hand and a legal battle on other, where he was pushed to justify his work's ethical standing. He unveiled the dark subjects of society in a quite realistic and bold way. Even the subject of "vulgarity" was described in a such a normal way that it didn't awkward the reader. For him, man was a perfect mixture of evilness and virtue. He expressed duality of human behavior at each economic stage. Minto is a name among such anthers who got glorified due to their zeal and courage towards their work. |

Quote:
Manto's unbiased and restless devotion to his work Manto was a prey of social confusions. He was not only regarded as indecent but also challenged due to his writings. But despite being criticised, he was committed to elucidating realities of life. For example, like Freud, he tried to demystify sex in a tangible way and concerned about marginalised sections of society. As a realist, he disliked the double standards of people and preferred unbiased behaviour. As a literary artist, he prudently explained vulgarity. Moreover, like Joyce, Lawrence, and Caldwell, he elucidated man itself creates restlessness in life. Conclusively, due to his work, he was able to attract many friends. |

I have written Precis. Please check my Precis.
Passage: ON Friday, relentless Israeli bombardment of Gaza and the Hamas firing of rockets on Israel finally stopped. In the 11 days that passed before the ceasefire Hamas fired over 4,000 rockets at Israeli cities killing 12 people in Israel, while in Gaza around 250 civilians were killed and some 1,900 injured. Hamas says 20 of its fighters were killed. Israel claims that the number was at least 130. The Americans claimed that they were fully engaged, with officials from the president down to his personal envoy exchanging over 80 calls or arranging personal meetings. On every occasion Israel’s right to defend itself against a ‘terrorist organisation’ was part of the message.
The ceasefire was unconditional but where did this leave the prospect of a two-state solution and of recognition of the rights of the Palestinians in East Jerusalem? When the ceasefire was declared President Biden made a three-minute appearance to claim credit for having arranged the ceasefire. This was a short speech. He refused to take questions but made the following points: “Israel’s right to defend itself has always been part of the US message.” PRECIS: The ceaseless Israeli bombardment of Gaza and the Hamas firing of rockets on Israel, continued for 11 days killing several people, stopped as the ceasefire were reached. The American officials claimed to have convened meetings and exchanged calls in the wake of situation. However, the Israel’s right to self-dense against ‘terrorist organisation’ remained conspicuous. After the ceasefire, President Biden made a short appearance to take credit for de-escalation. |

Here is my attempt on this question. Please evaluate it.
Manto was adversely affected by the hypocrisy and social ambivalence. His opponents denounced him as vulgar and filled cases againts his writings. Manto remained unaffected by these and continued his work on disco ering bitter truths of the society. To him
man was comprised of good and bad. He stressed that lower classes at the society also had same needs as other classes. He was aware of the increasing duality and was fakeness at different social levels. He raised these issues and discussed regarding vulgarity, but as an artist and without being obscene. words = 91 required=87 Title = Manto and social ambivalence |
