Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........late again....................

Anywayz, nice passage. It was an interesting read.
In bold is the elaboration of your question. Actually I was late in adding analysis and suggestions for the precis shared by members so your line was for me. When I said that you are late more to me it means that even if I was late your effort reached me belated it means you were more late to me.

Hope you have understood the point.

Anywayz, I would like to make a couple of suggestions that MAY OR MAY NOT improve the thread/precis writing exercise.
In a forum like this suggestions are made only for improvements so rest assure your suggestions would be taken positive.

Quote:
1. Would it be possible for you to also score our feeble attempts at precising the paragraphs. It will give us an idea of how good.....(or BAD) our preces are.....(ALSO WHAT IS THE PLURAL OF PRECIS?).....It cud be a relative scale and help us compare our preces.....(AGAIN>>>>>WHAT IS THE PLURAL OF PRECIS?) with each other and with the MODEL PRECIS.
Your suggestion is very good but I dont find myself experienced enough to rate your work as per my standards. I have learnt that all while I prepared for CSS and PMS you wont believe that it was my weakest area but now I have improved it with efforts and hard work. There would be a firework on marking precis caz I dont have so much spare time with me thus I may commit mistakes as I did in last passage so it would be a play with the future of CSS Aspirants that I never wish. Yes if senior member like Alamgarian is ready for this marking I would highly appreciate it. I find him really analytical and expert of precis writing so it would be his kind gesture to contribute to this thread or any other volunteer member who can give his/her precious time and valuable expertiese it would be highly appreciable.

Quote:
2. Could you also announce the best precis...(OF COURSE, AFTER YOUR MODEL PRECIS, THAT IS) amongst the participants of the thread for a specific passage. Once again, it will help the participants to compare their attempts with that of the Model and the best precis. In addition, it will create a sense of competition amongst the participants of the thread.
It may be possible to say that which one was the best. Its what I had practiced during initial work and announced best precis in implied meaning.

Anywayz, I'll be waiting for your reply, Miss Naqvi. DON'T WORK SO HARD THAT YOU FALL SICK AND DO TAKE CARE!!!!!!!!!

Take Care and Stay Cool!

Regards..............
I hav added my reply to your post. Dont worry brother I wont fell sick you are a doctor so that thinking this way.
Thanks for your kind words

Default My Feeble attempt

Two aspects of human nature.

Different nations of the world have some thing in common. Every country has two types of persons. One is that who works little and claims more rights while the other works more and gets little reward. Both of these persons are ignorant of their behavior. The man who shirks work blames society for the provision of luxurious life, while the one who contributes more than his due part feels that the individual must contribute to the society. The sluggish nature person is always affected by internal and external factors. Due to his habitual lame excuses he loses his trust among his friends and others. He is smoldered with jealousy by the progress of his friends and blames the society for discrimination. He never takes pain to do something extra. One will get good response from a busy person than a free one. (142 words)

Appi i don't good vocabulary like second openion but atleast i have the determation to learn and to be very ture i m learning a lot from you, from secondopinion and other worthy members of this forum.

Title: Universality of human nature.
Every nation has its own distinctive qualities .But there is universality of characteristics in human beings .Two types of persons are common in every society;one who wants to do less work and more outcome,he is gluttonous for his rights for which he is unworthy.Other type of person tries to do as much work as he can and doesn't care for reward. He thinks its his duty to pay to society, both behave strangely. This indolent person has alot of pretence for escape from his responsibilities, other accept his stories for a short while later they realize his slothful nature. When others show him a cold shoulder he is hurt and blames rest of the world except himself. This good for nothing fellow is not willing to do a little extra work yet ,the earnestman ,who is exceptionally busy will complete your work ,if it is really of any importance.

Default Answer for Passage # 9

Passage 9

Each nation has its own peculiar character which distinguishes it from others. But the peoples of the world have more points in which they are all like each other than points in which they are different. One type of person that is common in every country is the one who always tries to do as little as he possibly can and to get as much in return as he can. Hiss opposite, the man who is in the habit of doing more than is strictly necessary and is ready to accept what is offered in return, is rare everywhere.

Both these types are usually unconscious of their character. The man who avoids effort is always talking about his ‘rights’; he appears to think that society owes him a pleasant, easy life. The man who is always doing more than his share talk of ‘duties’; he feels that the individual is in debt to society, and not society to the individual. As a result of their views, neither of these men thinks that he behaves at all strangely.

The man who tries to do as little as he can is always full of excuses; if he has neglected to do something, it was because he had a headache, or the weather was too hot-or too cold- or because he was prevented by bad luck. At first, other people, such as his friends and his employer, generously accept his stories; but soon they realize what kind of person he is. In the long run he deceives only himself. When his friends become cool towards him and he fails to make progress in his job, he is surprised and hurt. He blames everyone and everything except himself. He feels that society is failing in its duties towards him, and that he is being unjustly treated. He soon becomes one of the discontented members of the society he lives in.

He public-spirited opposite is never too busy to take on an extra piece of work; that is the strangest thing about the whole business. If you want something done in a hurry, don’t go to the man who has clearly no much to do. He will probably have a dozen excellent excuses for not being able to help you, much as he claims he would like to. Go to the busiest man you know, particularly if you are sure that he has not a spare minute in the week. If your work is really important, he will make time for it. (Words 417) / 3 = 139

ANS:

Active versus Torpid Characters

There exist two types of characters in this world. One of them is active in enduring more than necessary work, while the other is sluggish in doing the required job. Neither of them aware of their nature, as one being lazy always asks for his rights, while the other being diligent always wants to do something for society. Therefore, the languid character every time finds excuses for not doing his work. Soon people realize his sedentary nature and do not trust him. His disposition for comfort hinders his progress and he blames on others for all of his failures. Gradually, he grudges upon society for deliberately ignoring him. While, the industrious character, despite busy in doing some task, avoids denying any request for carrying out another important duty. He commits himself for the needs of others. (136)

All nations comprise of two kinds of people.most of them are the one,s who want to have their cake and eat it too without much effort.they talk about thrie rights and think of easy life.the others do extra hard work and speak about the duties of individual.the idle man spins a yarn and make false excuses but his faliuor is recognized but he blames society and its unjustly ways.moreover he is not a man of action and will never help you.in contrast, extra hard work is the trump card of ambisious man and readily helps others.so,one should seek help from those who know the worth of work.

Easha I m really sorry for such a great delay. I think I shouldnt put you all in a long long wait like this one. I know its human nature that when we do something we keep on waiting for its final result and so is the case with this precis thread. But I m unable to manage time for thread especially in Ramadan its very hard to sit for an hour or more, first make analysis and then add corrections to your passages.

Plz it would be your kind gesture to wait till eid and it would be the last passage afterwards I will close thread caz I m unable to manage it further.
Here Secondopinion is welcome for his valuable contributions for providing valuable suggestions on your precis.

Again saying sorry for such a long long delay.

With Best Regards

DEAR BROTHER HAYATKHAN AND SISTER ZEHRA NAQVI;

I love to help others; whenever I see someone has done mistake that includes all professional, moral, educational, etc. as per my knowledge then I try to get realised that person for the errors. It is true that sometimes I get too serious in pointing that mistake that enrages others. Even if one gives me one thousand one hundred and one thanks and compliments, I never budge an iota to criticise if it is rightly due for someone doing some wrong, however, appreciative he/she may be towards me.

Think who would be sincere to you; the one who always says "well-done", "great job", or whatever, without analysing your work or the one who spends sometime to sincerely scrutinise your work and then rightly give his/her suggestions or comments, however, criticising that may be. Furthermore, if the other person is not agreed then he/she could start a healthy discussion in order to correct the arguing one.

I have seen in this forum that most of the members always shower their praises over other without being critical of others work. There is no environment of competition and cooperation among members.

I am being punished of showing a nuance of critically judging others performance (not in this thread of mis naqvi), such people are showing their anger in negative ways that are uncivilised, unethical, and inappropriate. I would be glad if they have competed or involved in healthy discussion, but their stone-age behaviour has shown the barbarity of their ego and personality. Such people who fear of competition or failures can never be successful in life.

The reason to express myself here is because of my promise that I have previously given to Miss Naqvi. I do not want to be called by others as "liar" or "promise breaker" that is one of the indication of "Hypocrite" according to our Holy Qur'an. Therefore, I apologise Miss Naqvi and other fellows for being unable to continue this worthy thread, as against my true intentions.

However, members who would like any service of mine are always welcome. If they need any help, they can contact me at my email: secondopinion02@gmail.com.

Thank you very much....

regards,

@ Miss Naqvi
The news of you closing the thread is indeed shocking. Your thread and your contributions have been invaluable to us. But I do understand your inability to give time to the thread. I also agree with HayatKhan that if you can't give time to the thread instead of closing it why not let some else take the baton of responsibilities. I'm sure there are plenty of forum members who are adept at the evaluation of the precis...(THE PLURAL OF PRECIS IS "PRECIS"). The reason I'm saying this is the fact that I'm not sure if there is any other thread where preces are analyzed...(in such an adroit manner, that is).....And the closure of this thread will lead to a loss of practice for its subscribers.

What do you say.....MODERATORS........Any comments??????????

@Miss Naqvi
Anywayzzzzz.....best of luck to you in your busy, hectic life............
