Ms Naqvi I am Junior member, this is my first ever precis, kindly help me make my skills better and then best.
Man and arrogance The fact that no man is necessary can best be observed in the house of commons UK but still the politician over there are very arrogant. Even lord Melbourne thinks so about politicians. The best example of politicians arrogance is that when one stands up to speak something in the house of commons others dont heed to what he is saying rather even the best of his friends for whom he may have sacrifised a lot would stand up in a protest and would leave the chamber ostentatiously. Some people may listen to him but not because of respect or acknowledgment to his vision but to learn something from him and win repute and fame for themselves. All this happens because everyone among the commoners want to gain repute and fame for himself and to be called as the pioneer of a subject. |

its my first attempt of precis writing plzzz guide me i am really poor in grammar.
title :How to establish a muslim society? All of us wish to establish a Muslim society .The writer says that after independence,he was considering the possibility of establishing Muslim society by law or by political power .Government can create a socialist society through its administrative machinary ;that was not Jinnah's way.but it can not create an ideal Muslim society. After independence the constructive programme was retreated .Some workers worked individually but they were sure that they would not change the society. Some people in administration claim to be loyal with the cocept of Muslim society ;but they dont prove it.According to the writer by quiting politics and becoming member of movement it is possible to achieve the goal of Muslim society. [ its not a good effort but i hope u will not ignore it] |

In the eve of current US, Iran imbroglio Pakistan has to reevaluate its foreign policy of unconditonal submission to US dictations. It should remain neutral, it should not compromise on its nuclear programme whether it is for defence or for meeting our energy requirements. It should demand all those nuclear concessions given to India from US without compromising on its nuclear programme for defence.

Dear Members
Thanks for your kind words. I am going to continue the thread from 20th July and I do hope that all the eager learners who missed the chance in last attempt will be on board this time. The Golden Rule "Dont curse the thing that has gone but never miss the oppurtunity available to you now" I have seen Sureshlasi has started Precise Practice 2008 that is very good effort to share his knowledge and expertiese for those who need it. Lets set some rules before starting it.
All the members have 8 days to make themseleves ready for the upcoming practice. So get Ready..........

Smugness of Politicians
The politicians heed to prove themselves more valuable among the people then to give importance to the passions of others as Melburn Said about there vanity these “Worthy” men are very vain, The good example is of vanity is Speaker who is a great critic in the whole house. So, house commoners display more characteristics to make prominent themselves through criticism other by neglecting virtues.

Hmmmm.....I second HayatKhan.....but as far as I know Miss Naqvi...this is not like her....she must be very busy or unable to participate in the forum due to some unforeseen circumstances.....
I think we shud wait till the 30th of July for Miss Naqvi to post a new paragraph.....after that some senior member/moderator could post a paragraph and we can carry out the precis exercise.....as they say the show must go on..... and hopefully by that time Miss Naqvi will be back and she can correct/give her views regarding the precis/preces.....(Hmmmm...I wonder what the plural of precis is.....). Anywayzzz.....Hopefully she'll be back before we even need to do something drastic. Prayers and regards to Miss Naqvi.....Hope she's well and in the best of health. Also....I'd like to apologize to her for trying to barge into her thread.....After all it is HER thread.....I have no intentions of sabotaging it..... Take care all and c'ya.

I wonder why people post such crap! It's better to keep quiet if you're not to participate or cannot have a word of appreciation on an effort especially when one is doing all this volunteerly. And yes if you see some RED in your user Control Panel, be sure that it was me! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Write a Précis of the following passage and suggest a suitable title-1989 CSS English Paper The Greatest” civilization before ours was the Greek. They, too, lived in a dangerous world. They were a little, highly civilized people, surrounded by barbarous tribes and always threatened by the greatest Asian power, Persia. In the end they succumbed, but the reason they did was not that the enemies outside were so strong, but that their spiritual strength had given way. While they had it, they kept Greece unconquered. Basic to all Greek achievements was freedom. The Athenians were the only free people in the world. In the great empires of antiquity— Egypt, Babylon, Assyria, Persia — splended though they were, with riches and immense power, freedom was unknown. The idea of it was born in Greece, and with it Greece was able toprevail against all the manpower and wealth arrayed against her. At Marathon and at Salamis overwhelming numbers of Persians were defeated by small Greek forces. It was proved there that one free man was superior to many submissively obedient subjects of a tyrant. And Athens, where freedom was the dearest possession, was the leader in those amazing victories. Greece rose to the very height, not because she was big, she was very small, not because shewas rich, she was very poor, not even because she was wonderfully gifted. So doubtless were others in the great empires of the ancient world who have gone their way leaving little for us. She rose because there was in the Greeks the greatest spirit that moves in humanity, the spiritthat sets men free.”
