Precis 2009

Several philosophers believe that art intensifies their emotions and disturbs discipline of their moral life. Plato says that artistic thoughts grow the feelings of lust,anger, desire and pain. Whereas, tolstoi regards art as a home of infection. But, these philophers have missed to analyze the very nature of art. It is the different state of mind. It is full of energetic passion which is tranformed into picture form. As wordsworth explains poetry as *recollection of emotions in a peacefull manner. It is because of this that aesthetic work can be seen but not felt immediately. According to shakespeare, the aim of playing is to put mirror before nature. Thus, art is the image of passion. The person who presents that passion doest not infect people with unfavourable emotions: like ambition, cruelty and jealousy of characters.
