Along with the new revelations of science and psychology there have also occurred distortions of what is being discovered. -Most of the scientists and psychologists have accepted Darwin’s theory of evolution and his observations on “survival of the fittest” as a final word. While enunciating his-postulate on the concept of the fittest, Darwin primarily projected physical force as the main criterion, and remained unmindful of the culture of mind, The psychologist, on the other hand, in his exclusive involvement with the psyche, has overlooked the potential of man’s physical-self and the world outside him. No synthesis has been attempted between the two with the obvious result of the one being sacrificed at the altar of the other. This has given birth to a civilisation which is wholly based on economic considerations, transforming man into a mere “economic being” and limiting, his pleasures and sorrows to sensuous cravings. With the force of his craft and guns, this man of the modern world gave birth to two cannibalistic philosophies, the cunning capitalism and the callous communism. They joined hands to block the evolution of man as a cultural entity, denuding him of the feelings of love, sympathy, and humanness. Technologically, man is immensely powerful; culturally, he is the creature ‘of stoneage, as lustful as ever, and equally ignorant of his destiny. The two world wars and the resultant attitudes display harrowing distortion of the purposes of life and power. In this agonizing situation the Scientist is harnessing forces of nature, placing them at the feet of his country’s leaders, to be used against people in other parts of the world. This state of his servility makes the functions of the scientist appear merely to push humanity to a state of perpetual fear, and lead man to the inevitable destruction as a species with his own inventions and achievements. This irrational situation raises many questions. They concern the role of a scientist, the function of religion, the conduct of politician who is directing the course 5f history, and the future role of man as a species. There is an obvious mutilation of the purpose of creation, and the relationship .between Cosmos, Life, and Man is hidden from eyes; they have not been viewed collectively.

Science and psychology have had separate achievements. Science focused on the physical power of man while psychology studied the power of intellect. Unfortunately both science and psychology have been unable to converge on the single agenda of human development. This has thrown the modern man into chaos and confusion. Modern man is diverse in technology but lacks a cultural identity and seeks the satisfaction of carnal desires only. He does not understand the purpose of his creation. The scientist is utilizing his knowledge for the creation of destructive weapons causing a threat to the entire human race. Many a question of political, religious and scientific nature arises in this situation. The answers of which shall predict the future of human species.

As the science and psychology progress, purpose of discoveries is being forgotten. The growing acceptance of the principle of survival of the fittest has reduced man to just being a product of physical forces.On the other hand psychologists view him as just a pile of spiritual cravings. Resultingly, vital connection between physical and spiritual needs is being forgotten. With this has emerged a civilization and life philosophies which treat man as merely material being devoid of all emotions. Man may have progressed scientifically but culturally he still remains primitive. It is unfortunate that scientists are collaboating in this project of destruction of man by man. Such is the tragedy thatt purpose of the life has been forgotten and man is seen through narrow prism of materialism

The Darwin theory only focused on competition, while psychologists failed to look beyond psyche. This has resulted in a society that is only concerned about economic gains and losses. Today, Capitalism and communism have overtaken man as a cultural entity. A man is void of love, empathy and humanity. The two world wars illustrate how the world has deviated from peaceful coexistence. The role of scientists is also controversial as they are leading the world into further chaos by trusting the politicians to decide our fate. There is a definite deviation from the original purpose of creation, as the world further slips away from collective coexistence.

Scientists and Psychologists accepted Darwin's fittest theory. According to Darwin, physical force is the main agenda of life whereas, psychology denies the fact and emphasises on the human psyche. However, the two schools of thoughts cannot be converged on one point. This debate has thrown human into the disguise valley of Capitalism. Technological revolution bestowed intense power to man but on the other side, it snatched away his humanity and made it culturally primitive. The man is now in the race of destroying his own species through technological breakthrough. The ample reason for human's creation abolished, materialism covered all aspects of man's life.

Discovery is prone to alterations. Researchers have adopted extremist views regarding evolutionary and cognitive development theories. This has suppressed morality and amplified materialism, leading to the bipolarity of the world. Man has split the atom but he forgot the true essence of life. Humanity has been dormant as science has segregated the world and caused a catastrophe. The role of all leaders is questioned as mankind has lost its collective consciousness.
