Default Written expression plays Important role

Context
I am graduating in the late December. Would likely to appear in 2017. I have never learned English grammar, but somehow I manage to pass all the papers.

What would be the right strategy to tackle the written expression problem? Should I join some teachers like Aga Mohsin or Sir Razi?

P.s. Suggest me some good novels or books to read.

Post Written expression

Zubair, first off, you should forget about novels if you are really worrying about improving your written expression. Why? Because writing something formal or academic is a complete different task than that of informal writing.

Even the usage of it's instead of "it is" is discouraged in the competitive examinations.

I would suggest you to read good newspapers daily. Start of with BBC or the New York Times, for they do not try to show-off by using difficult, complex jargon in their newspapers unlike Pakistan's newspapers. Once you become comfortable reading those newspapers, switch to the Pakistan's newspapers like DAWN or The Daily Times.

This whole process will furnish your writing skills, especially expression.

If you really want to read something other than news, I would highly recommend you to read English poems/poetry. It will unlock many different aspects of your imagination. Furthermore, you will be able to express yourself pretty well.

Regards.

Default How poetry?

Dear, how poetry makes us able to improve our writing expression? Poetry is a product of literariness and defamiliarization while we need to write familiar and unliterary phrase and sentences.

Mazhar, when did I I say that poetry would improve your written expression? Please read the last paragraph carefully. I said it would help you unlock different aspects of your imagination. Furthermore, you could express yourself pretty well. Is there any trace of written expression in this whole thought? NO!

Regards.
