Default 1 or 2 Essays expected in CE 2016?

AOA,

I heard a rumour that candidates might be asked to write 2 essays rather than 1. The syllabus mentions this but does not clearly state what's cooking. So anyone with an informed source?

1 or 2 Essays in 2016? What are the academies saying?

Thumbs up what a joke....

how can examiner ask two topics on essay writting ....i can't belive...never ever

100 marks essay wiritting task will give ...if 50 marks two essay will ask it will make easy to pass it......i and all will apply same formula like student life...100 marks essay is very big and tough task and priestage of css exam and in other words 100 marks for single topic make css exam paper royal....among all type of exam paper if it exclude....does royality of css exists????or become cake piece...

in short two topic make easy to get passing marks and up passing ratio in essay paper

While you might be right Chemist, I don't see how writing 2 essays would turn out be as easy as you are suggesting. Not only will it require a grip on more than one subjects but would also give a more rounded assessment of a candidates strengths and weaknesses. I don't think the poor passing ratio in the essay paper is an exclusive function of required no. of words

it is clearly mentioned in the syllabus that candidates will be required to write one or more essays as required, its not a rumour. So candidates will write either 1 or 2 essays as will be asked in the question paper.

According to a senior teacher of css English there may be an expansion of idea in essay paper which was previously in comprehension paper.
