No offence. But have you ever pulled 2500 words out of thin air? Meaning have you ever written an essay?
The advice was meant to get a starting point for the essay. Without that, content is of no use.

Of course, you need content to write THAT much.

almost always when we give an exam , take any subject for an example . we have books , a really helpful thing called syllabus , at least we have a idea ( no matter how tiny it is ) that what kind of question will be asked , like they are never gonna ask about Shakespeare,s love life in geography ,s exam .
but story of my life i am stuck . there are countless books on exactly how to write an essay , how to make an outline etc . but we dont have a single idea what will be asked . or am i missing something ?. or do examiner expect us to have a knowledge of EVERYTHING . how can we prepare for it if we dont know what will be asked . it literally could be anything . from " write abc " to " what came first , a chicken or an egg " . or should i just take a few topic out of the air and start preparing . ( i have been told that i ask too many questions , at the moment i am standing in pitch black and dont know if there,s even a way out " )

First of all try to make outline by using brainstorming technique. Your everyday observation, background knowledge and surrounding environment will help you for brainstorming and drawing a general sketch.
Once you make outline of 10 to 20 general topics, you will have an idea about the information required for writing an essay. You will observe that points you mentioned in your outline require some details like facts and figures, examples, quotations, sayings, proverbs, etc on these topics to develop your essay. Use internet to find authentic information to support your points.
Try this method. I personally found it very helpful.
