Default Essay Headings?

Should there be headings in the essay? Like when you have an outline with main points and then it has sub points. So should we gave headings when starting a main point and under this heading we will have para's of sub points. Seniors who qualified essay please answer.

It is not recommended to have headings in the essay. Outline is technically a list of headings but they should be mentioned only in outline and not in the essay. It is recommended to have separate paragraphs for explanation corresponding to each heading of outline but heading itself shouldn't be mentioned.

There should be no headings in the actual boy of the essay.

Outline is essentially the heading of each paragaraph you write in essay.
