If quality of the essay you have written is upto the mark, 1500-1800 words suffice. What overall matters is the quality not the quantity.

You should at least write above 1900 words.


I study from csstutor.pk the online studies solution for the CSS exam.

There is no hard and fast rule. Some students pass with 1100 words. Some examiners might be giving extra credit for quantity. It all depends upon examiner and you do not know what is in his mind ,but definitely writing correct and short is far better than writing extensively with dozens of mistakes

examiner is not expected to count your words or pages. he considers material, figures, expression, logical support of assertion, grip on topic and how you convey your idea through outline. you are required to satisfy and impress the examiner, otherwise you are out of the game.
