Democracy in Pakistan: Hopes and Hurdles
Outline:
1. Introduction

a) Democracy: An overview
b) Nature of democracy
c) Political history of Pakistan
2. Democracy in Pakistan has a promising future owing to following indicators of hope:

a) Smooth transition of democratic governments in recent past.
b) Efficacious accountability across the board.
c) Constitutional supremacy and unbiased working of judiciary
d) Political awareness among masses through vibrant media,
e) Emergence of new political parties at national level.
f) Mature attitude of military establishment towards democratic/elected government.
g) Active participation of youth in national politics.
h) Increasing consensus among parties for protection of democratic process.
3. Democracy in Pakistan is in its nascent phase facing following hurdles :

a) Feudalism and dynastic politics are hindering the way of common man towards the parliament.
b) Inter-institutional clash is weakening the democratic setup.
c) Lack of accountability and transparency are favouring nepotism and corruption.
d) Shadow of military establishment on national politics and fear of military coup are hampering democracy to flourish.
e) Prevalence of sectional interest over national interest.
f) Vote casting on racial or religious basis rather than ideological basis.
g) Low literacy rate resulting in low turnout during election.
h) Lack of economic development.
4. Steps for making Pakistan a true democratic state.

a) Ensuring enlightened citizenship can prove guardian of democratic ideals.
b) Sectional interest must be sub ordinated to the national interest
c) The desire for personal liberty should be stronger than the desire to Govern
d) They’re should be a delicate balance among state institution which is conducive for the growth of democratic culture.

Its an excellent effort at HOPES section, but when you come to the Hurdles, your statements are contradicting.

For example: in hopes section yoy say Mature Military thinking, in hurdles you deny and cross that statement which you mentioned above.

In Hopes you say Accountability is across the board, but in HURDLES you say that POOR ACCOUNTABILITY.

Rest is good.
You can do much better. Good luck.
