Default Media misleads masses (need reviews)

Media Misleads Masses
Introduction:
“The advancement and diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty.”
-James Madison
Media, which is the advancement and diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty. When harnessed by the righteous minds, it provides truth and nothing but the truth for our minds to ponder upon. Media has a huge influence on the minds of people. Although it also plays a specific part of giving information of what is happening around us, information true or not people have to trust it whether it is about something very serious or about entertainment.
Conceals more than it reveals:
The biggest charge on media specially TV channels is that they only reveal the spicy part of truth, the information which seeks more attention by our people. They tell the half story and leave the rest for the mind of people which usually mislead them to overthinking. Leaving people for guessing the story is a serious offence. Recent criticizing of PTI using a helicopter while neglecting previous governments using private gets is a perfect example of media telling half story.
Biasness:
Media bias at times is too clear to be ignored. Siding with political parties, or showing despite to certain government functionaries, at times persons like ministers – is a common sight. But it works both sides; the government control media in all the countries show a visible tilt towards the government while giving a bashing to the opposition and on the other hand private sector media – newspapers and TV channels, remain occupies to lash out at the government actions and allowing the opposition to drag matters in the public which should have been talked about in the parliament. The media bias some time is visible on regional, ethnic and linguistic grounds only damaging a society rather than bringing people closer.
Criticism:
It has become the habit of media to criticize the political leaders. If they notice one thing they spend week on debating about that thing and get their results fixed on the mind of people. Which ultimately leads people coming out on roads and pretest. These many times resulted disturbing the people and if we see the long history of Pakistan it emerged as Martial Law. Another thing media do that it blackmails the government no matter how powerful it is, it always becomes a strongest source of twisting the hand of govt. by opposition to crush the government to attain power. We have a very recent example of Nawaz Sharif govt. crushed by a simple ex-cricketer Imran khan. Would he be able to do that if his ‘power shows’ were not shown on TV of course not because its because of media that IK attracted so many people and formed govt. even in Punjab which was the home of Nawaz Sharif from where he always got majority but this time all different because of media.
Cultural Damage:
The way few things appear on Media is opposite of our culture, so the things they show directly effects our culture, traditions, religion and moral values. Like ‘Two Nation theory’ suggested we are different from others as a nation we have our own culture and traditions but on media specially on social media like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp etc. our culture is presented in a totally different way which misleads ultimately our young generation and also ruin the image of Pakistani as a nation with independent culture. Although it already has created its huge impact on our culture we can still stop It by stopping media to promote things that do not relate with our culture.
Unethical Content:
Large part of media does not obey ethics which can indirectly offence many. Imagine you are doing breakfast and suddenly the situation comes on TV that a group of people killed lying on ground fully dipped in blood and injured coming one after another, this will ruin your whole day. Not only this but also the headlines will remain in your mind whole day out. The reason is media which basically show it and write in such a way that human heart skips a beat for a while. Which could have been easily avoided had media followed professional way of putting forward the matter.
Sensitive Content:
Perhaps the most commonly leveled charge against media is its chronic approach to sensationalize matters of routine life. In a murder story the media would go to find some juicy thing out of nothing. A small tip from any person around may make a media person to build a spicy story, which may attract common people. More than often, the facts on which media build story prove wrong by later investigations. Film world and leading sports-persons are always worried, as media would quickly fabricate a story on finding a small bit of something like shaking hands with certain people by a film star; - think if a top police officer inviting a noted film personality over a cup of tea – a storm is likely to be made in the media.
Under Foreign Control:
This is generally done covertly. Media is under fire all across the world for selling space to interest groups-political people in the developing countries and the economic interests in the advanced countries.

Private life, obscenity:
All people, including the ones living in hall-of-fame have a private life. Media for its personal interest keep peeping into the private life affairs of famous people and report matters to public, which may ruin life of the stars. Females coming at the top of show biz are the most-hunted targets. Media does not hesitate in playing up their images which look highly offensive if put on newspapers or magazines pages, no matter those poses were meant for a momentary demand for certain actions during a shoot of feature films or even a commercial camerawork.
Conclusion
Although media is very important but there are many charges on media which include providing wrong information, showing improper content, under control of agencies etc. Therefore, to sum up we can confidently say that media misleads masses if misused.
