Feminism prevails in the world for centuries, for equality of men and women remains a distant dream. As said by Bette Davis, “When a man gives his opinion, he is a man. When a woman gives her opinion, she is a bitch.” The statement clearly gives an idea of the discrimination women are going through. And this discrimination does not come from a particular area or region, but it exists throughout the globe. The most covered issues related to feminism are rape, female infanticide, denying the civil rights of women, etc. Name any multinational company, all the executive positions are held by men. Moreover, in the list of Women CEOs Fortune 500 magazine, women hold only 7.4%, that is, 37 out of 500 CEOs of the list are women. Same goes with global politics, as the global average of women in national assemblies, as of 2019, is about 24.3%. There is no doubt that women hold lofty positions too, like Nita Ambani and Hillary Clinton, but on a global average those are just a mere exception. These global statistics demonstrate that feminism is not only a third world issue as even the super power United States of America is also affected by it. Feminism does oscillate the outskirts of the third world, but it is not only the third world where it exists.
