Freedom of expression is not absolute

*Thesis statement*
Freedom of expression is a fundamental human right and cornerstone of any civilized society ,
however, this right brings along its fair share of responsibilities which must be upheld while exercising freedom of expression.

*3) Absolute freedom of expression has seldom being held in human society.*

*A* ) ancient human civilization had limited freedom of expression at various level.
*B* ) Every religious dogma has put equal emphasis on right as well as obligations while expressing oneself.

*C* ) the Nation state system itself defines sovereinigty as fixed boundaries for the conduct of politics.

*D* ) *modern liberal society ,the champions of absolute freedom has itslef put restrictions on absolute freedom of expression* .
a* ) Holocaust denials are treated severely in Europe .
*b* ) social media is censoring and flagging contents on the pretext of hate speech.

*c* ) John Snowden case shows United States intolerant approch towards criticism.

*d* ) us acting as moral policemen and interfering in other states for their policies towards their citizens.
*e* ) western nation increasing intolerant approach towards hijab .

*D* ) *Modern world order is sliding towards clash of civilization due to the exploitation of the idea of absolute freedom of expression as evident from uproar in Muslim world over caricature issue.*

*F) steps needed to be undertaken to regulate freedom of expression* .

*a* ) bringing the issue on the platform of united nation and dealing it as security issue and pass obligatory resolutions.
*b)* Muslims through the platform of OIC.

*c* ) economic boycott of nations supporting such abominable steps.

*d* ) adopting intellectuall steps through interfaith harmony to let Europe understand the depth of religious sentiments .

*e)* charting policy with ubiquitous social media in spreading the idea of peaceful coexistence through regulation of their censorship policies

*4) Freedom of expression left unchecked has resulted in gross human sufferings*
: Unchecked power of US led to freedom of expression into freedom of aggression.

:Social media with its unbounded contents has created deep division and rise of xhenophobia.

:Freedom of expression has been exploited by populist leaders to garner support.
:Environmental degradation has led to existential threat.

:The unrestricted power to expression has led to civilizational clashes and a pretext for terrorist to attract support.
