Query about introductory para
 

Is it acceptable to bifurcate introduction into two paras rather than writing the whole 1.5 page intro with a single para. I find it very odd to write a single para of 1 to 1.5 page, since we have to adhere to half page para in the rest of our outlines. Kindly provide with necessary instructions of essay introduction that could prevent candidates from being in a risk.

Not acceptable. It is required that essay introduction must be written in a single paragraph. All teachers instruct that.

Yes it is the way. As said earlier all mentors agree to this and i don't think its much contradictory to not to write in the said pattern. We, the aspirants, tend to think with our limited capacities but that's the way introduction should be. The reason being that it gives preview of your essay as a whole, therefore, must be in one paragraph. Haven't you written essays or got them assessed before?

P.S. Adequacy is subject to interpretation. For now, focus on your attempt, practice writing essays.

I have a question out of this discussion. Doesn't a paragraph of one or more pages is considered too long?

I don't know why an essay is still a conundrum. For me, an essay should be your thoughts reflecting on facts and figures of a specific topic. I think most of us make it too intricate that we can't focus on the crucial requirements. I started writing articles on HubPages; it took me one month to discern the requirements of the cite. As it is an American cite and they have an auto system of checking and evaluating the articles and grammatical errors are a taboo. But, I don't understand what is the difference? I write articles with the same style as intro, body, and conclusion. Then why most of the students fail in the paper. Believe me, I have seen people with an autonomous style but failed in the essay. It's pathetic.

For example if there is a topic criticizing globalization, you can give an introduction and give a second header of "Critique of Globalization; an overview"

You said one is needed to use a hook preferably a quotation and then bridge it with the thesis.

I really like to use Quotes but I fail to make any transition... could you please write a sample para so that many of us can benefit from you?
