misunderstood essay topic
 

Recently I appeared in an FPSC written appear. In English paper-1, there was a question of 50 Marks about essay writing. One topic was "The evils of Prosperity". I due to my overconfidence/stupidness understood the topic wrong. Instead of writing evils (negatives) of Prosperity, I wrote the whole essay as the factors due to which there is no Prosperity or the factors which resist prosperity. The other part of the paper was OK and I am confident enough that I will get at least 30 marks out of 50 in that section. So, my question is has anyone has done a similar kind of mistake as I did and still passed the paper. What is the passing marks of English paper for FPSC general recruitment 18-19 scale jobs?. Due to this confusion, I am really confused about whether to prepare and appear in the next subjective paper or not?. Any suggestion or sharing of a similar experience will be highly appreciated. Thank you

I don't know about general recruitment, but if you make this kind of mistake in the CSS essay then you will get 0.

Yes. due to the prosperity, I couldn't think that prosperity has any evil, I thought that the essay is about the factors which are hurdles in getting prosperity. Do, you know the passing marks of English Paper-1 in General Recruitment for 18 and 19 Scale positions.

There are several "evils" of prosperity such as:

1) Urge to dominate (Colonialism is an example)
2) Greed
3) Hoarding to make abnormal profits (Cartels)
4) Exploitative behavior
5) Unequal distribution of wealth to make rich richer at the cost of poor getting poorer (ills of capitalism)

etc..
