I was getting through some essay writting guide lines. Here is an abstract which surely will help everbody.
How to Write an Analytical Essay
1. How to Write an Analytical Essay. Getting Started
Definition:
An analytical essay is helpful when a more full understanding of an examined object is needed.
General Guidelines:
Anything can become an object of your investigation: an event, a piece of art, or a literary work. Whatever it is, preparation for writing is important.
- when an object is chosen, take it apart, and examine each single part of it thoroughly;
- examine your object in its historical context (if it is a painting, how is it connected to its epoch and artistic requirements?);
- discover the message of the object (what did the author want to say in an evaluated book, for example);
Tips on essay writing:
When analyzing, write down all your ideas. Not all of them will appear in your essay writing, but it’s always good to have a choice. Plus, you never know what you can come up with, and it can be something really outstanding.
Don’t hesitate to write something new and unordinary.
It might sound crazy, but try to fall in love with your topic. If you get inspired, your essay writing will be a depiction of your inspiration; therefore, you’ll get a positive feedback.
2. How to Write an Analytical Essay. The Introduction
Definition:
The Introduction gives a brief explanation of your topic to the readers.
General Guidelines:
The main item of the Introduction (and an essay paper as a whole) is a thesis statement; therefore, everything has to be built around it:
- an abstract – key information about the evaluated object;
- your claim, or a thesis statement – an answer to this information, and your reaction on it;
- direction sentences - explain how your thesis will be supported or developed in the body of your essay;
- an introduction has to be at least eight sentences long.
Our tips on essay writing:
Any thesis statement has to give a reply to a topic, and not just restate it.
3. How to Write an Analytical Essay. The Main Body
Definition:
The Body argues the case you have laid out in your Introduction
General Guidelines:
All your evidence and facts have to be stated here. A certain structure of body paragraph is required. It consists of:
- the topic sentence, or the main idea, that tells the reader briefly what the paragraph is about;
- supporting points (from four to five);
- a concluding sentence that ends a discussion on this topic.
Our tips on essay writing:
Go back and see, whether an outline in the introduction matches the coherence of the body paragraphs.
If needed, give an explanation to your supporting facts.
4. How to Write an Analytical Essay. The Conclusion
Definition:
The goal of any conclusion is always the same – summarize and stress the main ideas.
General Guidelines:
- a conclusion has to be at least two sentences long;
- it has to give a sense of completeness;
- it has to leave a reader with a clear picture in mind.

How to Write an Analytical Essay
Writing an essay is all about organizing your thoughts. Here's how to put together your ideas into a coherent analytical essay.
Steps
Draw a square and put your introduction in it.
Start to plot out what you want to write. Do this underneath your introduction.
Come up with a main idea for each paragraph. Explain your main idea, maybe throw in a quote that will help to explain it in better detail.
Back up your ideas with examples. If you're writing a Descriptive consider a personal example. Otherwise, find an objective example to support your analysis.
Follow these procedures for each paragraph that you need to write.
State your conclusion. Restate your introduction and leave them thinking.
Tips
Beginnings and endings are great places to use quotes, to use metaphors, and to use repetition, for effect.
If you are writing a formal analysis or critique, then avoid using colloquial writing. Though informal language may bring some color to a paper, you do not want to risk weakening your argument by influencing it with verbal slang.

Choosing the topic
Choosing The Topic
If you have not been assigned a topic, then the whole world lies before you. Sometimes that seems to make the task of starting even more intimidating. Actually, this means that you are free to choose a topic of interest to you, which will often make your essay a stronger one.
Define Your Purpose
The first thing you must do is to think about the purpose of the essay you must write. Is your purpose to persuade people to believe as you do, to explain to people how to complete a particular task, to educate people about some person, place, thing or idea, or something else entirely? Whatever topic you choose must fit that purpose.
Brainstorm Subjects of Interest
Once you have determined the purpose of your essay, write down some subjects that interest you. No matter what the purpose of your essay is, an endless number of topics will be suitable.
If you have trouble thinking of subjects, start by looking around you. Is there anything in your surroundings that interests you? Think about your life. What occupies most of your time? That might make for a good topic. Don't evaluate the subjects yet; just write down anything that springs to mind.
Evaluate Each Potential Topic
If you can think of at least a few topics that would be appropriate, you must simply consider each one individually. Think about how you feel about that topic. If you must educate, be sure it is a subject about which you are particularly well informed. If you must persuade, be sure it is a subject about which you are at least moderately passionate. Of course, the most important factor in choosing a topic is the number of ideas you have about that topic.
Even if none of the subjects you thought of seem particularly appealing, try just choosing one to work with. It may turn out to be a better topic than you at first thought.
Before you are ready to move on in the essay-writing process, look one more time at the topic you have selected. Think about the type of paper you are expected to produce. Should it be a general overview, or a specific analysis of the topic? If it should be an overview, then you are probably ready to move to the next step. If it should be a specific analysis, make sure your topic is fairly specific. If it is too general, you must choose a narrower subtopic to discuss.
For example, the topic "KENYA" is a general one. If your objective is to write an overview, this topic is suitable. If your objective is to write a specific analysis, this topic is too general. You must narrow it to something like "Politics in Kenya" or "Kenya's Culture."
Once you have determined that your topic will be suitable, you can move on.
Here are a few guidelines to help you through the process:
Pick a topic that you are interested in. You will express yourself with more clarity and insight if you are interested in the topic that you are writing about.
You should pick a topic based on the assigned texts that you understood. While writing your essay, the majority of your energy will be focused on explaining and supporting your individual perspective and thesis, so it is important that you understand and feel comfortable talking about the primary (and possibly secondary) material that will form the basis of your essay.
Select a topic that is challenging and thought provoking. You want to write about a topic that is interesting to you. Your essay should reflect your own individual and unique perspective on your chosen topic. It should not be a mere restatement of the already existing academic ideas on the topic. So, you should choose a topic that challenges you and allows you room to express yourself in relation to the primary source text, and the secondary sources (if they are applicable to your assignment).
Your topic should be specific enough that you can form an opinion about it, but general enough that you can find enough information to support your perspective and write a comprehensive and substantial essay.

Well, my limited observations, regarding the choice & way of attempting an essay, are:
1. Select the one, about which you feel confident that you have sufficient amount of knowledge.
2. You should have atleast two-three different views specifically, if the essay is on Current Affairs/International Relations/ Politics/ Global Scenarios or Problems/.
3. GOOD--START & END. (First impression is the last impression).
4. Organize it before start: Introduction, Main Content (narrow-down to objectives), Summary. Conclusion & recommendations if required.
5. Must have sufficient amount of words in your stock (Vocabulory).
6. High-sounding or bombastic style does not ASURE your quality writing.
7. Avoid long sentences.
8. VERY IMP: Sentence beauty means; use of proper punctuations, appropriate use of grammer, idioms & phrases, quotations counts a lot.

Opinion-starter for Essay(CSS-2007)
Dear candidates of CSS,
i would like to invite a critical investigation into the following stuff of knowledge i penned down on "The Image of Islam in the west and responsibilities of Muslim Ummah".It was the topic i selected for my Essay in CSS-2007.I wrote allbut 18 pages.The stuff is being pasted in points as under:

2.unravelling of Western plots against Islam in various manifestations in sheer disregard of Islamic philosophy.
3.Umpteen allegations,figure-pointing and bashing of the religion in western camps.
4.Islam-an intolerant religion,cluster of maccabre beliefs and practices,religion of terror(Concept of Jihad),non-accommodative order.(Some of many images being potrated and projected in the West)
5.Islam-its meaning and message(True philosophy of Islam discussed in correspondence with the above projected faces of islam)
6.Administrative sys during period of Holy Prophet and Four caliphs(Treaty of Hudybia discussed in defendce that Islam is a tolerant and accomodating religion)Many other examples given.

11.ulterior motives of West in malighning the religion og Islam.
12.How Muslim Ummah Is responsible for the bad image of Islam projectd in the West(socio-political and economic death,no united political clout,authoritarianism is political systems,weak plotical Org(OIC),lack of powerful media to project islam in its true picture,etc.
13.What Muslim Ummah should Do(undoing the above stated problems,unity of political strengh,economic revival,avoiding extremism and fundamentalism,strenghening OIC, Creating a powerful Media to project Islam in true form,etc.
The essay was concluded with the following words of Musharraf about the Muslim Ummah that:
"We are at the defining moment of history.we can either seize the moment and define the history or let the moment define our destiny."
The points have been discussed here in topssy turvy form.They are not in form.
