Essays on quotations

Aoa:D
as u go through the past essay papers u will find that many quotations r included in it.2006 essay paper had 6
quotations.although we are familiar with these quotations but we dont have enough material 4 them.the question 4 essay says
that write a comprehensive and analytical essay.we dont ponder upon these two terms.that is why if u pass u get only 40 i.e
passing marks.in 2006 paper there were 6 quotations 4 this reason the choice was narrowed down to 6 topics thats what i

think.
coz i could only write 5 to 6 pages of these proverbs or quotations.
i know most of the students would have gone for
1 personalization of pakistani politics
or
2nuclaer weapons are "not only a great peril, but also a great hope
and most of the science students would have gone for
3 globle warming.
while Foreign direct investment in pakistan
and
liberalism were bit technical topics.
Humour in urdu literarture was tough topic to write.
People think 12 essay & u have to write one thats easy, its not.:sleeping
i have started this topic so that the senior members of the forum put their input .
i know it will help many.

Wsalam

I believe that it is not impotant to attemp this sort of essays. U should avoid them at all. Well u need to select from the remaining ones which are abot current affairs, hot issues, etc. Quotations are really a rough and tough job and only an expert can do justice wid them.

If still u find urself helpless wid the remaining topics then go for the quotation topic. U can only do justice wid it if u know the full background of the quotation and if u are capable to make long discusions not only to do justice wid the title of the essay but also to make sure the examiner that u know a lot about the essay topic.

U need to quote a lot many examples to make ur essay substantial as well as impressive. u should ahve strong hold over ur fluency and english language. u ll also describe the quotation by pondering some hypothetical as well as real world situations to make it working at all.

Agreed with impossible. In my opinion essays on quotations should be avoided. As per requirement of essay paper, the essay should be comprehensive and analytical. And these two requirements can be fulfilled only when the examinee have a sound knowledge of all the aspects of the topic he's writing on. As far as essay on quotations is concerned, one can't expand the criteria of the quotation without having a solid arguments and vast studies. Yes if we practice a lot then we may attemp such kind of essays, but marking of such essays depends on examiner's agreement with your writing.

Yes I agree.. Exam room dynamics are really different. One should not select any topic which is controversial or too much subjective in nature. Those topics where you could present facts and figures should be preferred because examiner would not be able to disagree with the factsand figures.
