No need to explain if your quote is relevant to your argument. Quote supports your argument. You can also pass essay if you don't quote a prose. However, your arguments must be strong enough to prove your point.

There are four types of structure :
argument,
explanation,
definition, and
description.
So, as you think about writing your first paragraph, ask yourself, what sort of article you are writing. In this article, for example, I am writing a descriptive article.

These are your choices of types of article or essay:

Argument: convinces someone of something
Explanation: tells why something happened instead of something else
Definition: states what a word or concept means
Description: identifies properties or qualities of things

But don't ignore the newspaper. Read headlines and columns of dawn.

Default how to use different discourses?
The examiner recommends in the question paper that while one writes essay one should use different discourses. He gives specific names as example.

"The essay should be comprehensive. The essay should consist of 2500-3000 words. There should be the use of different forms of discourses, e.g. exposition, argumentation, description, and narrations. There should be an organization of the contents, relevance, and clarity in the essay"

Although one understands what these discourses are - and we use two discourses in an essay all the time e.g. descriptive (while defining) and argumentative (for rest of the current affairs essay) - how is one able to write different (all of above) discourses in one essay?

Can you please suggest/advice how I can do that?
