Default Is it really important to give outline before starting an Essay!

I have these questions about Essay, if anyone could oblige me by answering them, that would be terrific!
What happens if I don't give outline before starting an essay; is that considered outright failure or just leaves a bad impression?

Also, if I don't kiss the minimum limit of 2500 words, can i still pass?

Any replies would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Usually it is made compulsory to write outline of essay so in that case it is must to write an outline. Even if the examiner has not asked for writing outline, it is always good to make one because it also helps you to adjust the essay in systematic manner.

It depends upon content of ones essay to get passing marks or otherwise. If content is bad and you have written 3000-3500 words, you cannot pass and if content/material is good then even 2000 words are enough.'

Good luck

Regards

@ aakhan: writing outline would help you alot and can save you alot of time. Rather, it is compulsory and carries its own marks in essay paper.
@ TS Awan: Thanks for the tip about the words count in essay, i was also confuse about the words count.

On average 11 sheets and one page (23 pages) should suffice.

HOW?
If there are 22 lines on a page and you write 6 words in a line, that means 132 words per page, for 23 pages (11 sheets, one page) that makes 132*23= 3036 words.

i think i'm being ridiculously complex here...

But brother, those sheets are always without lines
and one can maximum write 16-17 lines per side of sheet legibly.
Number of words don't matter at all.

Yup! that's 100% true, quantity of words doesn't count, only quality does. Too true.

So, where is the bottom line? Some of the respectable members are saying there are lines, while some saying there are no lines in the paper. Can any with prior experience of the exams clarify if please? That whether there are always lines on the answer sheets in essay paper? And are they always the same?

What about the handwriting , and does the fairness in handwriting matters
how many marks does an outline carries?
