Yes good vocabulary gives you good marks, that is true. But vocabulary is less important than other points told. Less important does not mean no importance. Using good vocabulary is like a bonus. The main things are other.

One thing that must be beared in mind that essay paper is to be cheked by a professor of English Language.S/He can over look other matters but can never tollerate langauge flaws.It is what i have learnt.

i have another question about quality of quality suppose i have written an essay that is well quality wise but is not very lengthy so should i believe to score good marks

Surely, if you write essay of good quality, it will fetch at least passing marks for you. For high marks you should be near to the required stuff. I know a person who wrote about 6 pages and scored around 50 due to his well command on English. According to my experience, essay writing skill, expressions, narrations, structure, idioms are appreciated as compare to length.

Essay should write in simple words we should never try to impress but try to express ok.

Yes you can start an essay with a relevant quote. But in the structure of essay the position of quote must come after making outline i.e.

<Outline>
<Quote>
<Essay body>


Indeed its not only good but the most impressive way to broach an essay. It gives an impression to the examiner that if the person has managed to provide a relevant quote then he must be aware of what he is going to write. It will induce an interest in him and force him to read the piece of literature.
