Read more. Read from different and varied sources. By this I mean newspapers, magazines, novels, criticism, blogs, self empowerment books etc. They all carry different writing tones. By going through them you will emulate their style and eventually reach your own unique style that will be attractive, mature, logical and much more.

I'd say be yourself and write to the point and avoid repeating the same words again and again. I feel a better explained essay of words 1800 could earn you more marks then essay of 2200.

First- I am no expert at this but i did olevels they did teach us some bit there. The thing is you need to be sure what you want to write, Like just enlist the ideas you want, make a mind map of it and once you know what you want to write in specific paragraphs it should be easy but above everything else it will come up with practice. Practice as much as you can and keep thinking about how you could make it better?
