CONCLUSION

The emergence of extremism has killed every hope of peaceful co-habitation in Pakistan. However, the phenomenon is not naïve and sudden to the country. It has taken decades of lawlessness along with state led myopic strategies to present this sorry state of affairs. Ignorant masses who are continuously miseducated amidst economic disparities, make for ideal victims of extremism. Status quo has damaged every good thing contained in this part of world. From creative arts to sports none is spared. Skillful recrafting of basic infrastructure, needs to be done under the strong will of both government and civil society, on emergency basis. Only this can help a long way in exterminating this evil.

Extremism is no doubt the fatal poison which has paralysed the infrastructure of Pakistan. The economy, the political life, the social life and international image of country, all is held hostage to extremism.

“Pakistan Institute For Peace Studies” defined extremism after a nationwide research as:
“Imbalanced ideological attitudes that were conceived in a state of mind where an individual regards himself as superior to others and acts as an inquisitor”
Extremism literally means to cross the limit, or to be at the far end of any of the two opposites.

Extremism of creed and extremism of deed are two most widely accepted types of extremism. Going across the boundaries of faith or disbelief is extremism of creed, while falling for prohibited things and acts is extremism of deed. Where atheism is the example of former type, anger, disobedience and adultery is referred to the latter type.
The fish does not know that she is wet. This is true in case study of extremism in Pakistan. While the causes of extremism are rampant and rather ubiquitous, the society seems blind to them. The omnipresent causes need to be pinpointed so they can be shown the door out.

It is the collusion of vested interests with religion that forms the fault line from where extremism breeds. Every religion preaches peace. Still, it is the very religion that forms the base of most of radicalization. The ostensible torchbearers of religion for their personal interest or to appease a group of people in power or, sometimes ,to gain power for themselves mold the religion purposefully to suit their goals. The generosity of nation is well utilized by these masterminds. Charity is collected in the name of religion which actually goes into the pockets of different interest groups operating actively in the country.

Historically, the extremist state of mind was planted, propagated and preserved by the state as a savior of nation on different fronts. First in 1979 it served our strategic depth. Then, in Kashmir and eastern borders it flanked the military through different jihadist organizations. It was not until the eve of War on Terrorism that the backlash of these defective policies was felt.

Political trajectory of country has a thing to do in phenomenon under discussion. Democracy engenders pluralism in a nation, and, leads to inclusive societies. Lamentably, frequent martial laws in Pakistan have prevented a sustained democracy. Thus the fruits of it such as the intellectual growth of nation, and “unity in diversity”, are ruthlessly perished. Military dictators imposed rigidity in society and introduced yes man ship in the country, and that without the consensus of general masses. The laws passed in these eras of interruption were mainly the brainchild of few in power. Rest of the nation was left with no choice but to bear the fruits of extreme state agendas.

“Hunger, disease and poverty can leave a vacuum for extremism to fill.”
BARACK OBAMA
Human beings are intelligent and selfish creature. So, a person is most likely to act in a way that ensures sustenance of what is jeopardized. Hence, a poor will follow what guarantees his survival, with least care about society. There is an ever widening gap between the rich and the poor in Pakistan. The Economic disparities found at every level of state are the most visible catalyst in the casualty of extremism. A person deprived of basic necessities of life sacrifices all morality at the altar of the piece of bread for his children. He can easily be coaxed to turn his guns towards the state and all those who are seemingly satisfied with the system.
By default, education system of Pakistan invokes an extremist intellect in its pupil. A widely profused hatred found in Pakistan towards the neighbouring countries and also towards minorities living within Pakistan can be attributed towards the flawed education system. Disappointingly, no foreign culture, language or religion is introduced at schools. This inculcates a spiteful sense of superiority in young minds. Part of the problem is the perceived threat to our national security in telling the truth about history. Also, the large number of poor children who drop out of school under economic pressures, descent into a cheaper educational module found in madrasahs. These children turn out to be a vulnerable tool of extremism.

As the saying goes, a pear tree would not bear Apples. From top to bottom each branch of the current structure is either a culprit (in?) or a victim of extremism. Consequently, the effects are all encompassing and ineluctable.

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction,
while the worst are full of passionate intensity.
(William Butler Yeats)

Most visible effects of extremism are on the social level. Community life, national heritage, social gatherings, playgrounds, and sources of entertainment are all at constant stake.

“Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.”
GEORGE BERNARD SHAW

Life cease to exist where art is in shackles. A number of singers, writers and painters in Pakistan have been declared apostates by extremists and many of them have given up the ghost. Whatever is left, works under the sword of Damocles hung over head. Few examples (to support this view) from recent past include, an attack on lucky marwat circus; Murder of Pashto singers like Wazir Ali Khan, Ghazala Javed and Aymen Udas; and an unfortunate death of renown play writer Asghar nadeem sayed. Taste makers of life are found delicious to be devoured by extremism. This in turn has left the society flavourless.

Cultural extremism is stabbing the society at its back. Cultural heritage of Pakistan is a symbolic representation of our glorious past. The ancient civilizations have left their mark in the form of ancient temples, Buddha statues, and Mughal monuments in area now comprising Pakistan. Since decades followers of Hinduism, Sikhism, and budhism are visiting Pakistan for sight of their sacred places. Takht bahi katasraj in Chakwal , Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, Shri mandir in Umerkot and many other sites bring huge revenue to the economy through tourists from all over the world. In return the tourists take with them the positive image of Pakistan. Sadly, Cultural extremism has left these sites insecure and desolated. Tourists fear to show up under the threat of an attack which can take place at any hour of the day.

National festivities are also dying of this disease. Basant, azadi melas, international sports have succumbed to this evil. An attack on srilanka team is still fresh in minds of everyone, since it led to Pakistan’s isolation in world of cricket. Recreational activities are fast becoming a luxury hard to avail in ambience of extremism. Creative minds and innovative ideas die a pre mature death in womb of brilliant minds. While, the archaic philosophies linger on.

Wide and various landscapes of Pakistan are home to lush green fields and snow led mountains. With deserts, rivers and some of the finest lakes Pakistan is no doubt most potential tourist attraction. Attacks on mountain climbers and ziarat residency’s incident scared the tourists out and thus the beautiful master pieces of nature are left unattended. Now the world only knows what is shown to them on tvscreens and newspapers. A very few dare to take the first-hand experience of the hospitality of nation.

When women thrive, all of society benefits, and succeeding generations are given a better start in life
KOFI ANNAN.

Extremism hits hard the larger chunk of population that is women. Religion is misinterpreted to suit centuries old patriarchal desires. People are coaxed to believe that women are a thing to keep at home, denying their right of basic education, right of economic independence and role in decision making. Honor killing, domestic violence and women objectification is fast becoming order of the day. Whereas, invisible violence on this gender through destruction of girl’s schools, restriction on women mobility, low wages, child marriages, forced marriages and tendering of women to resolve feuds goes unchecked. A very important organ of society is thus mentally crippled, and a potential workforce is alienated, causing the country a significant setback on social and economic grounds.

Minorities are next to women in hit list of extremism. Churches, temples, jamaat khanas and even Imam bargahs have become red alert zones. An attack on All saints church on September, 22, 2013, is deadliest in recent past which took 85 lives. Passing year was welcomed on 1st January, 2014 with an attack on bus of pilgrims carrying them from Quetta to Iran. Brains behind both the tragedies are still at large. The opportunities for minorities are narrowing down while fears are growing rapidly. Corollary to this dismal state of affairs majority of parsis and ahmedis have already left the country including some high ranked professionals.

Extremism is challenging the political life of Pakistan through parallel politics. According to a paper released by National Internal Security Policy at present there are 60 outlawed organizations in the country working on religious, sectarian, ethnic and regional agendas. . Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Lashkare Jhangvi, and Sipah-e-Sahaba are one of them. Rooted in extremist ideologies these organizations enjoy quite handsome amount of sympathisers under the sun, and have a huge Influence on right wing political parties, who cannot afford to take the irk of religious lot. Consequently, the right wing parties of parliament sometimes become spokesperson of radical organisations. Changes in educational, political and judicial structure are strongly resisted in parliament. Progressive bills are opposed and any move to free women, children and minorities of unwanted burdens is paralysed beforehand. A bomb attack, a misleading fatwa regarding government and sometimes street power is used to meet the vested interests. In times of elections, left wing is denied fearless campaigning, which in turn influence the final results and future discourse of country.

Economic aloofness is most damaging outcome of extremism in Pakistan. The formula having lawlessness, political instability, sectarian violence, and women oppression, as its core components is made by expert hands of extremism. And the end result- read Pakistan- is lying aloof in the row of all other products. International investors are smart players and they avoid paying for unhealthy ingredients, unless assured otherwise. Tourists, international players, artists and multinational countries do not invest their money and energies in Pakistan, because of ever looming security threat.

Fear is the opposite of everything you are, and so has an effect of opposition to whatever you are.
NEALE DONALD WALSCH

The constant and repetitive blows of extremism are remodeling the psychology of nation. Pakistan is a hospitable, friendly, hardworking and intelligent nation. But constant fear and international finger pointing has antagonized all these heavenly qualities. The proud nation is fast transgressing into isolated, doubtful, confused and mentally coagulated group of people. Green passport means an ever increasing demand of justification of every little thing you do. Overseas students face constant suspicion which effects their performance as well.

Better late than never. Sustained and committed steps taken with holy dedication can still help in healing the damage done to the country. Stringent Law and order is the key to unfolding a peaceful society.
Society of kufr can prevail, but society of injustice will not.
HAZRAT ALI.

Law and order is the backbone of every society. A vigilant and quick justice is panacea to all the ills of society. Knowing that the crime would definitely meet the consequences, the temptation to do it would automatically melt away, no matter how strong ideologies work at its back. All law enforcing agencies must be given an independent status, with provision of accurate funding and well trained manpower, along with the modern intelligence paraphernalia to enhance their performance. Co-ordination between different provinces, manning of provincial borders, and registration of inter-provincial movements with a nationwide census to support the statistics can help curb the spread of this menace. Additionally, Local bodies must be provided with greater legal powers for ensuring dispense of immediate justice.

The road to de-radicalization is long but clear!!
Islam teaches a man to lead a balanced life. It abhors the idea of shunning the social life to find Allah. Allah says in Quran,
"O people of the scripture! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truth"
(Qur'an: 4, Verse:171).

The rights of people are given high regard in Islam. That is why violation of rights of people (haqooq-ul-ibad) is a sin greater than violation of rights of Allah (haqooq-Allah). Either it be a case of treating Women, dealing minorities, or behavior of government servants there is a set of guidance for everyone in Islam. Charity and mutual care are the keystones of social edifice in Islam.

Holy prophet(P.B.U.H) had himself divided his time into three parts. One for prayers, second for social life, and third and last for himself. The Prophet (P.B.U.H) counted woman amongst his likes and quoted once,
Fear Allah in matters of Women. (al hadith)
Holy prophet(P.B.U.H) had always emphasized on maintaining equilibrium between material and religious life. Holy Prophet(P.B.UH) said once,
"Beware of extremism in the religion" (An- Nasai and Ibn Majah).

Having greater capacity, ulemas have greater responsibility in de radicalization of society. The loudspeakers and booklets should be used to spread the true spirit of Islam, which lies in peace and harmony. The trend of exploitation of the prevalent confusions found in general masses, should be replaced by a wiser approach. Inter-religious, and inter-sectorial conferences must be held nationwide to maintain brotherly relations amongst different communities. Rationalization of religion in line of modernism is to be done by ulemas. The religious segment of society shall not make the religion a tool for personal gains. Forced conversions, misleading speeches, Anti state activities, and politics of religion merit an immediate divorce.

The sufi literature of sindhi, Punjabi, pushtoon and Baloch languages should be translated into English and all other regional languages. Inclusion of this culturally and morally rich version of Islam should be made part of academia and be made available in all public and online libraries. The sufi cult punctuates the value of the middle path in a mystic and soul touching manner.

If you keep on saying you sir, you sir, you will be perished. And if you stick to ME and ME it will be horrible. Listen to Bhagat Kabir, O bullah, both situations are not desirable
BULLEH SHAH

Sufi teachings divert the attention of a person from others to his own self. Since, being judgmental about everyone and everything under the sun, defines the nation in one trait. There is a dire need to remind the nation of fruits buried in self-assessment. This would help contain exremism. Baba Farid have beautifully told people to mind their own business in following verses.
“With the gaze on ground and attention on your path, Oh Farid, keep on walking. Do not let anything sour your heart. If you find in your heart seeds of evil, FIGHT with none but yourself, and, keep on walking.”
BABA FARID

The academia of country needs enrichment through addition of new subjects and chapters. Isolation is shouting loud in present educational system. History be made a separate subject in primary levels. International languages, cultures and religions must be taught to students at early level to break the myths down. Pluralistic approach in schooling and teaching be adopted.

Democracy must not be left hostage in hands of different power parallels. A sustained democracy will solve the half of problems by itself. Equality, meritocracy, rightful representation of every community in the parliament who is bound to deliver to its people will melt down the giant of extremism.

Pakistan have world’s fifth largest youth. Progressive, young and brilliant minds must be promoted to a status of role model for coming generations. Passionate and professional youth must be given opportunities to influence and bring the most desired, positive change in the society.

Coverage of extremism by media sometimes helps spreading it. Responsible documenting, reporting and broadcasting must be ensured so that this fourth pillar of state does not work in opposition to national goals. Philanthropic, generous and hospitable side of the nation must also be presented with as equal the zeal as shown in displaying carnage and killings.

Last but not the least civil society of Pakistan should come forward to stop by hand, or by mouth or by reporting, the incidents of extremism around them. To do the least is not to take part in it as instructed by our beloved Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H).
Extremism is a long held social hazard which can turn into tragedy if not taken hold of. It has raveled the whole fabric of society by rearing its ugly head in every sphere of life. The mistakes of past should be corrected by using every mean to get rid of this menace.

My essay goal is 60 sir but i only got passing marks this time so be harsh while checking

Why did you particularize a militant organisation 'TTP' rather you should have replaced it with 'militant factions' or 'groups'. Over all, your essay is beautified with short sentences and strong vocabs
