The thesis statement is the most important part of the essay. In this statement, you tend to explicitly state your stance towards the given topic. This is the statement that interprets your understanding of the significance of the under disscussion matter. At the same time, it is the statement from which the entire essay is derived. I would suggest you go through the following links (websites of acedemic institutions) in order to get an idea about the thesis statement. You can post the query if you don't comprehend any particular aspect. Is thesis statement essential part of essay?
If one doesn't bother about it ... |
thesis statement actually shows that the topic that has been given to you, whether you agree with it or not, but the main question is where to put it?
you can out it in the start of an essay, and then state your arguments in support of it. it can also put in the end so that element of surprise remains there. it is really upto you. |
I agree with Zara Shah. I personally felt that it was always convenient to start the intro of the essay with Thesis Statement. Not only the examiner gets clear , but one's self is also clear as to what one is going to write, in what direction and with what sequence.

Put the thesis statement in the very beginning of the Essay. Then jot down the outline. Then start with the introduction and main body.

In Simple Words
A first line or last line in the first paragraph or introductory paragraph is thesis statement.
it can be any thing a quote, an adage,a view , a poetic verse, a personal view etc But beware it is the center of gravity for your whole essay and your whole essay balance and equilibrium on this line |

"More demand and less supply of energy due to fever energy production and operating plants, and also corruption, leads to energy crises in region"
According to my humble opinion, it could be Energy crisis is born due to mismanagement, corruption and less optimal production; while, reality is that we can even meet our local demands through non-conventional means of energy production. Remember a good thesis is one which covers all the aspects that you are going to discuss in an essay. thesis not only covers the reasons of energy crisis but also discusses how problem can be resolved in the future. So it draws a clear picture in readers mind that my essay not only covers the stark realities of energy crisis but also explains the alternative means to overcome this national issue. P.S.its my own opinion and readers are encouraged to tell me short comes and failures in my ‘proposed thesis.’ |
Please clarify, do we have to write a thesis statement at the very beginning of the essay before outline or it would be sufficient to write it at the start or end of the introduction paragraph????
