"Media : a mirror to the society or a Frankenstenian monster"

This is an argumentative essay, first you should decide then do you really think media is a mirror to the society or a Frankenstenian monster or not.

If you go with the former then you should support your arguments and discard that of the latter one. At the same time, if you support the latter then support your arguments with concrete, coherent and logical points and reject the former one with the same strategy.

- For instance, in introduction, first you will talk generally then you will devise a thesis statement that media is a mirror to the society.

- In the main body, let's suppose you go with the former one, then you will write how media is a mirror to the society, you may write it is the 4th pillar of the state, educate people, disseminate information, forms opinion, reveals black sheep etc. Another important thing in my view is that topic has not demanded to talk about the present case, so one can easily quote the role of newspapers and journalists in the making of Pakistan to make the your arguments more solid i.e., how it played the role of mirror to a society by letting the sub-continent aware of the conditions and demands of Muslims and made it clear to the British and the Hindus that their atrocities are enough now and won't work any more. In short, you are supposed to support your arguments.

- Now comes the other part, the monster's one. You will write how it becomes a Frankenstenian monster. Indeed, black sheep are everywhere, so you will for sure write something on it like media can portray wrong image, go for ratings, play with someone's character etc.

- After this, you will critically analyse it, since you have supported the former, so you will write that on the whole, media is a mirror to a society. It needs to weed out monsters to make it pure. There are many journalists who gave their precious lives to let people aware of what's going on behind the scene, how they reveal mafia, corruption of politicians, black sheep in every sector of Pakistan etc. You can quote journalists, newspapers etc. Do quote that media should not give coverage to terrorists.


And personally, I must say that if you go with the former, you can write and support your arguments in a sophisticated way.

This is all in my humble view.

I have passed my essay of CSS twice, it is all about your own realistic ideas. Nothing to worry about, just go on and attempt your outlines, try to broaden your ideas and attempt your topic to the point that's all more than enough to get passing marks.

To be very honest, I don't read anything like that, just forget descriptive, explanatory, narrative type of essays, don't read types, just learn how to attempt riddles. CSS essays are almost riddles. I just hit the topic to the point and attempt simply and nothing is art in essay paper. Attempt your essay crystal clear and present it like a piece of cake for reader. That's what I did and gone through twice. In CSS 2013 I got 53 marks and in 14 I got 44.
